Habitium: Social Responsability

Habitium is a company deeply committed to its environment, sustainability, and the society to which it belongs. It takes concrete actions in various areas, focusing on creating a more sustainable and equitable world.

 Waste Management

In our industry, it is common practice to destroy products that are no longer fit for sale, as it is the easiest and most cost-effective solution. However, our approach to these products is entirely different. We believe that with a little effort, we can avoid waste by donating items to those in need. Each product donated by Habitium is either new or barely used, ensuring they have a long remaining lifespan and can benefit people in vulnerable situations. We collaborate with several NGOs to achieve this goal.

 Carbon Footprint

At Habitium, we have successfully reduced our CO₂ emissions to virtually zero. Furthermore, we are offsetting our footprint from previous years through CeroCO2. Our carbon neutrality has been allocated to a renewable hydroelectric energy project on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. In total, the company has offset 4.3 tonnes of CO₂.

Transportation

At Habitium, we consolidate shipments whenever possible to reduce the number of deliveries and, consequently, fuel consumption, thereby minimizing our environmental impact. Additionally, we partner with companies like UPS and CEX (Correos Express) that share our commitment to sustainability an important factor for us when selecting transportation agencies.

Packaging

We work closely with all our partners to reduce plastic consumption and use only recyclable plastics whenever possible.

Since 2022, we’ve been collaborating with various NGOs across Europe.

We have donated over €20,000 in products that could have otherwise been wasted or destroyed, thereby avoiding environmental impact and helping improve the lives of those in need.
