Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Impacts or drops of the microphone or stand that can cause injury or equipment damage.
- Trips and tugs caused by loose or poorly routed cables.
- Hearing damage from high levels in headphones or monitors and from sudden feedback.
- Electrical hazard or overheating in models with an external power supply or battery, especially with unsuitable chargers or damaged batteries.
- Product deterioration due to humidity, condensation, dust, or liquid ingress.
- Hygiene risks from shared use near the mouth and contact with non-disinfected surfaces.
Safe use
- Place the microphone on a stable stand and ensure that clamps and threads are secure before use.
- Route and secure cables, avoiding walkways, tugs, knots, and points where they could be pinched or crushed.
- Keep the microphone away from loudspeakers; start with low volume and gain and increase them gradually to prevent feedback.
- Mute or turn down the volume before connecting or disconnecting the microphone, headphones, or any cable.
- Handle the microphone by the body or base; avoid impacts, drops, and blowing directly into the capsule.
- For wireless or rechargeable models, use compatible batteries and chargers and monitor the temperature during charging.
- For shared vocal use, use personal covers or foam windscreens and disinfect contact surfaces following the manufacturer's guidance.
- Keep the equipment dry; do not use it in rain or near water unless the product is designed for it.
Storage and maintenance
- Disconnect and switch off after use; remove the batteries if it will not be used for an extended period.
- Store the microphone in a pouch or case, in a dry, ventilated place, away from sources of heat, moisture, and dust.
- Clean grilles and accessories with a soft, dry cloth; wash and fully dry foam or filters before reinstalling them.
- Periodically check cables and connectors; replace any that show cuts, pronounced kinks, looseness, or corrosion.
- Charge batteries on firm, non-combustible surfaces; do not cover the equipment during charging and stop charging if it becomes excessively hot, emits an unusual odour, or shows swelling.
- Transport the equipment in a padded case and secure folded stands to prevent accidental openings.
Restrictions on use
- This is not a toy; keep out of reach of children and pets. It may contain small parts and batteries.
- Do not hang the microphone by the cable or use improvised or unstable stands.
- Do not use the microphone in environments with high humidity, rain, or condensation unless it is specifically designed for it.
- Do not mix new and used batteries or different types; do not use damaged, leaking, or swollen batteries.
- Do not open or modify the microphone, the battery, or the charger.
- Do not use solvents, aerosols, or liquids that could seep into the capsule or connectors.
- Avoid use while driving, cycling, or performing activities that require full attention.
