Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Hearing damage from high volumes or prolonged exposure near the ear.
  • Electric shock from damaged cables, plugs or adaptors, or from contact with moisture.
  • Overheating or fire when covering the speaker, blocking ventilation, or placing it on flammable materials.
  • Drops and impacts from poorly secured, unstable, or edge-positioned speakers; risk of injury and property damage.
  • Tripping hazards and tugs from loose cables that can topple the equipment.
  • Water or moisture damage in non-water-resistant models; risk of short circuit.
  • In battery-powered models, risk of swelling, leakage or fire due to impacts, puncturing, extreme heat or improper charging.
  • Internal magnets that can affect magnetic cards and, at close range, certain implanted medical devices.

Safe use

  • Always start at a low volume and adjust gradually; avoid placing the speaker right against your ear.
  • Place the speaker on stable, level surfaces; use appropriate stands or mounts and check their firmness periodically.
  • Tidy cables with cable clips or ties and leave slack at connections to prevent tugs.
  • Connect only to compatible mains sockets and adaptors; do not use damaged cables or plugs, and disconnect by pulling the plug, not the cable.
  • Do not cover grilles or ventilation areas and leave space around it to dissipate heat.
  • Keep the speaker away from heat sources, flames and liquids; if it is water-resistant, ensure covers are closed and dry the connectors before charging.
  • Do not open or tamper with the interior; if you notice a burning smell, unusual crackling or excessive heat, switch off and unplug.
  • For battery models: use the recommended charger, charge on a hard, non-flammable surface, do not cover during charging and stop charging if it becomes excessively hot.

Storage and maintenance

  • Unplug before cleaning; use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid aerosols, solvents and liquids directly on the grille or connectors.
  • Store in a dry, ventilated, dust-protected place; allow it to dry completely if it has become wet before using or charging again.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures and prolonged direct sunlight, for example inside a closed vehicle.
  • Periodically check cables, plugs, mounts and fixings; replace any damaged component.
  • For battery models, store with some charge and recharge occasionally if it will be unused for an extended period.
  • If used outdoors, remove moisture and residues (e.g., salt) and dry thoroughly before storing.

Restrictions of use

  • Do not use in bathrooms, outdoors or damp areas unless the product clearly states it is suitable for such use.
  • Do not leave charging unattended for prolonged periods or on soft surfaces that retain heat.
  • Do not use in environments with a risk of explosion or with flammable dust/atmospheres.
  • Do not cover with fabrics, non-ventilated covers or enclose it in closed cabinets during prolonged use.
  • Keep cables and small parts out of reach of young children; supervise the volume when children are nearby.
  • People with implanted medical devices should keep a prudent distance from the speaker's magnets and follow the instructions provided by their implant manufacturer.
  • Do not use the speaker as a support, step or seat; avoid placing objects on top.
  • Unplug during severe electrical storms or if it will not be used for long periods.
