  • Trips and falls caused by loose cables or accessories in walkways.
  • Hearing damage from high volume on headphones or speakers.
  • Eye strain, headache, dizziness or photosensitivity episodes caused by flickering images or prolonged use.
  • Repetitive strain injuries to the hands, wrists, shoulders or neck.
  • Equipment damage and electrical hazards due to liquid spills or moisture.

Safe use

  • Place the console on a stable, well-ventilated surface; do not cover vents or enclose it in spaces without airflow.
  • Use only the power adaptor and cables recommended by the manufacturer; replace any frayed or bent cables, or those with loose connectors.
  • Keep cables tidy and away from walkways; secure them to prevent tugs that could pull down the console or the screen.
  • Keep the equipment away from heat, liquids and vapour; do not use it with wet hands.
  • Do not open the console or insert objects into the slots; modifications may cause malfunctions and safety risks.
  • Set the volume to a moderate level and take regular breaks to rest your eyes and joints.
  • If you experience dizziness, blurred vision, tingling, headache or discomfort in your hands or back, stop using it and rest.
  • Update the system and controllers from official sources when appropriate; avoid unauthorised software or accessories that could affect safety.
  • For games or accessories involving movement, clear the play area and, if the controller has a wrist strap, use it.

Storage and maintenance

  • Shut down the console properly before unplugging it and allow it to cool.
  • Store it in a dry, ventilated place, protected from dust, moisture and direct sunlight.
  • Clean with a soft, dry cloth; do not use aerosols, solvents or spray liquids directly onto the console or controllers.
  • Keep the air vents clean by carefully removing dust without pushing it inside.
  • If the controllers use batteries, remove them if they will not be used for prolonged periods and store them out of the reach of children.
  • Protect the equipment during transport with a case or padded packaging; disconnect cables and accessories before moving it.
  • Avoid crushing, puncturing or exposing controllers with integrated batteries to high temperatures.

Restrictions on use

  • Do not use the console in bathrooms, outdoors in the rain or in environments with high humidity.
  • Do not use it while driving, cycling or undertaking activities that require attention.
  • Not recommended for very young children without supervision; monitor the use of cables, small parts and access to batteries.
  • People with a history of photosensitivity or who are prone to dizziness should exercise extra caution and heed on-screen warnings.
  • Avoid covering the console or placing it on soft surfaces during operation.
  • Do not use adaptors, transformers or accessories not designed for the model; do not attempt to modify the equipment.
  • For games involving movement, keep a safe distance from furniture and other people and clear obstacles.
