Main risks
- Burns from hot steam or hot surfaces in warm-mist models.
- Risk of electric shock from water contacting electrical parts, damaged cables or overloaded sockets.
- Microorganism growth in the tank if not cleaned regularly, potentially causing respiratory irritation.
- Excess humidity promoting condensation, mould and dust mites, and potentially damaging furniture, floors or electronic devices.
- Spills and drips that may cause slips or stains.
- Irritation or allergic reactions from fragrances or essential oils; some pets may be especially sensitive.
- The unit tipping over due to unstable placement, with possible impacts and water spillage.
Safe use
- Place the unit on a firm, level and stable surface, leaving clear space around the mist outlet.
- Keep the steam/mist plume directed away from walls, ceilings, curtains, sockets, furniture and electronic devices.
- Unplug the appliance from the mains before filling, emptying or cleaning, avoiding splashes on the base and cable.
- Use only water and additives specified by the manufacturer; do not add essential oils to the tank if the model is not designed for it.
- For aroma diffusers, start with small amounts and short sessions; ventilate the room and avoid oils contacting skin and eyes.
- Change the water frequently and empty the tank if it will not be used that day to prevent stagnant water.
- Clean and descale periodically according to the manufacturer's instructions; replace filters or wicks as appropriate.
- Monitor the room humidity and ventilate if you notice windows fogging or damp surfaces.
- Keep cables tidy, without tension and not crossing walkways to reduce trip hazards.
- For warm-mist models, do not open or move the unit while it is operating; wait for it to cool before handling or refilling.
Storage and maintenance
- Empty, rinse and dry the tank after extended use; avoid leaving standing water.
- Store the product clean and completely dry in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and frost.
- Clean nozzles and areas where limescale or biofilm may accumulate using the methods recommended by the manufacturer; do not use abrasive products.
- Check the cable and plug periodically; do not use the unit if you notice damage, abnormal heating or an unusual odour.
- Replace filters, wicks or pads according to the manufacturer's guidance, or if they show wear or a persistent odour.
- Avoid storing the appliance with the cable tightly wound or crushed to prevent damage.
- Before storing it for an extended period, remove detachable parts and dry them separately.
Usage restrictions
- Keep the device and essential oils out of reach of children and pets; do not allow them to handle the unit.
- Do not use the appliance in unventilated or very small spaces where humidity may build up.
- Do not place the unit on textiles, unstable surfaces or ones susceptible to moisture; use a water-resistant base.
- Do not cover or block the mist outlet or the air inlets.
- Do not move the appliance while it is operating or tilt it when full of water.
- Do not immerse the base in water or use the unit near showers or areas with direct splashes.
- Avoid using essential oils in the presence of babies, pregnant people, those with asthma or sensitivity to fragrances, and near susceptible pets.
- Do not leave the unit running unattended for prolonged periods; switch it off when leaving home or if you notice condensation.
- Do not use adaptors, cables or parts not specified by the manufacturer.
