Key risks

  • Electric shock due to moisture, wet hands or damaged cables/plugs.
  • Overheating if ventilation grilles are blocked or the appliance is covered.
  • Cold injuries from touching very cold internal surfaces or handling large quantities of ice.
  • Entrapment by internal moving parts if hands are inserted during operation.
  • Slips and water damage due to leaks, drips or spills around the equipment.
  • Contamination of ice from using non-potable water, inadequate cleaning or dirty utensils.
  • Minor cuts from shards or edges of compacted ice.
  • Tipping or impact when moving the appliance due to its weight and size.

Safe use

  • Place the machine on a stable, level surface with space for ventilation and away from heat sources or direct sunlight.
  • Connect to an earthed mains socket; keep hands and plug dry and avoid overloaded extension leads or adaptors.
  • Use potable water only; after installation or a deep clean, discard the first batches of ice.
  • Do not insert hands or utensils while the machine is running; remove ice with a clean scoop.
  • Wipe up drips and spills immediately to prevent slips and surface damage.
  • Unplug before cleaning; do not immerse the appliance or spray water into it. Use appropriate cleaning solutions for food-contact surfaces and rinse thoroughly.
  • Do not force lids, sensors or trays; observe the maximum fill levels specified by the manufacturer.
  • Avoid direct, prolonged contact with cold components; wear suitable gloves when handling large quantities of ice.

Storage and maintenance

  • Keep the unit in a dry, well-ventilated place; do not cover air intake or exhaust grilles.
  • Empty and clean the reservoir and ice-contact surfaces regularly; allow to dry with the lid open to prevent odours.
  • Descale periodically if the water is hard and rinse thoroughly before using again.
  • Check filters, hoses and seals if fitted; replace any components that are worn or leaking.
  • Ensure there is no compacted ice or blockages in the outlet chute and remove them with the appliance switched off.
  • For transport, switch off, drain the water and keep the unit upright; after transport, wait the time recommended by the manufacturer before switching on.
  • If not using for an extended period, unplug, empty water and ice, and clean and dry the interior.
  • Refresh the ice periodically to maintain freshness.

  • Do not block air outlets or cover the appliance with fabrics or objects.
  • Do not modify, pierce or open the casing; repairs must only be carried out by qualified technicians.
  • Do not use the machine if there is a burning smell, sparks, water leaks or damage to the cable/plug.
  • Do not place heavy objects on top or position the unit on unstable surfaces or those that obstruct ventilation.
