Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Risk of electric shock if used near water or with wet hands.
  • Burns from very hot air or from contact with the nozzle and hot attachments.
  • Overheating and fire if the vents are blocked, the appliance is covered, or it is used on soft surfaces.
  • Dropping the appliance into a bath or washbasin containing water, posing a serious safety risk.
  • Hair, dust or fabrics getting caught in the air intake grille.
  • Damage to the power cord from pulling, bending or crushing that may expose internal wiring.
  • Discomfort to ears and eyes from directing the airflow directly at them.
  • Risk when used near aerosols, hair sprays or flammable materials.

Safe use

  • Use the dryer in a dry environment, away from baths, showers and washbasins.
  • Dry your hands before plugging it in or handling it; connect it to a mains socket in good condition.
  • Keep a safe distance from the scalp and skin; do not concentrate heat on one spot for too long.
  • Do not cover or block the vents; avoid resting the dryer while it is running.
  • Keep hair, fingers and fabrics away from the intake; use attachments correctly fitted.
  • If the appliance falls into water, do not touch it: disconnect it from the mains first, then remove it.
  • Unplug after each use and before cleaning or changing attachments; allow it to cool on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Stop using it if you notice a burning smell, smoke, sparks or unusual noises.
  • Avoid extension leads in the bathroom or damp areas and do not direct hot air at the eyes or ears.

Storage and maintenance

  • Allow it to cool completely before storing, and do not cover it while it is hot.
  • Store it in a dry place, away from moisture and splashes.
  • Clean the intake filter/grille periodically to remove lint and hair, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Check the power cord and plug regularly; if they are damaged, do not use the appliance.
  • Do not wrap the cord tightly around the body of the dryer; avoid kinks at the cord exit point.
  • Keep attachments clean and firmly secured; replace any that are deformed or cracked.
  • Do not immerse the appliance or use abrasive products to clean it; use a slightly damp cloth with the plug disconnected.

Usage restrictions

  • Not suitable for young children; children should only use it under adult supervision.
  • Persons with reduced physical, sensory or cognitive capabilities should use it with supervision where necessary.
  • Do not use the dryer while bathing, showering or on wet floors.
  • Keep it away from oxygen in use, open flames and flammable aerosols.
  • Do not cover the dryer with towels, clothing or other fabrics during use or while cooling.
  • Do not use it to dry clothes, objects or animals unless the device is specifically designed for that purpose.
  • Do not attempt to open or repair the appliance; have it repaired by a qualified service technician.
  • Use only compatible accessories and avoid unsuitable adaptors or transformers.
