Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Falls or tipping over when removing the box from high shelves or when opening heavy lids.
- Finger entrapment in lids, hinges or internal drawer runners.
- Slippage on wet bathroom surfaces, with a risk of knocks or breakages.
- Breakage due to overloading, with possible cuts from edges or fragments if the material breaks.
- Humidity and condensation that may cause mould, unpleasant odours or deterioration of the contents.
- Accidental access to small or sharp objects, or to liquids stored inside, especially by children or pets.
Safe use
- Place the boxes on flat, dry and stable surfaces; use non-slip bases if the surface is smooth or damp.
- Do not let the box overhang the shelf edge, and leave space to handle it without strain.
- Distribute the weight evenly and avoid overloading; follow any stated maximum load. Place heavier boxes on lower shelves.
- When taking a box down from a tall unit, hold it with both hands and open the lids slowly, keeping fingers away from the hinges.
- Label the contents so you can identify them without opening and reduce unnecessary handling.
- Keep the boxes away from heat sources and direct contact with water (shower, heavy splashes).
- If storing liquids or products that may spill, use well-sealed containers and place the box in a compartment that can contain any drips.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild soap; dry thoroughly to prevent moisture build-up.
- Avoid abrasive scourers, solvents or bleach that could discolour or weaken the materials.
- Ventilate the inside of the bathroom cabinet periodically to prevent condensation and mould.
- Regularly check for cracks, loose lids or loose parts; replace or stop using the box if it is damaged.
- Keep the shelf bases and the undersides of the boxes dry; in very humid bathrooms, consider using desiccants in the unit.
- Stack only when the base is stable and compatible; avoid tall or unstable stacks.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use the boxes as a stool, step or seat.
- Do not hang the boxes from doors or panels unless they are designed for it.
- Do not store food unless the box is suitable for food contact.
- Do not force the closure when the box is very full; remove or reorganise the contents.
- Do not use the boxes outdoors or inside the shower or bath unless they are specifically designed for that environment.
- Keep boxes that contain small or sharp objects, medicines or chemicals out of the reach of children; supervise their access.
