Warnings and safety precautions
Main risks
- Risk of electric shock when handling damaged plugs or cables.
- Overheating due to obstructed ventilation or by connecting loads that exceed the stabiliser's capacity.
- Fire due to short circuits, moisture or dust build-up in ventilation slots.
- Damage to connected equipment due to voltage or power incompatibility, or high start-up/inrush surges.
- Burns from hot surfaces after prolonged or heavy use.
- Falls or impacts if the device is left hanging from the socket or with cables under tension.
- Restarts or malfunction of the connected equipment if the mains supply is very unstable or the stabiliser's capacity is insufficient.
- Surges during thunderstorms that can affect the stabiliser and connected appliances.
Safe use
- Check the maximum voltage, power and current ratings of both the stabiliser and the equipment; do not exceed the limits.
- Connect to an earthed socket where applicable and avoid adaptors that bypass it.
- Plug the stabiliser into the mains first and, once operational, connect the equipment; switch off before disconnecting.
- Keep the ventilation slots clear; leave space around it and do not cover the device with cloths or objects.
- Avoid moisture: do not use it with wet hands or near sinks, baths or sources of liquids.
- Use cables and plugs in good condition; unplug by pulling the plug, never the cable.
- Do not daisy-chain power strips or extension leads; connect only the necessary equipment within the rated load.
- If the appliance has a motor/compressor or a high start-up surge (e.g., fridges, pumps, tools), confirm that the stabiliser is suitable for that type of load.
- During thunderstorms, or if you notice a burning smell, crackling or clicking noises, or excessive heat, immediately disconnect the stabiliser and the equipment.
Storage and maintenance
- Place and store the stabiliser in a dry, ventilated and stable location, away from sources of heat, dust and vibration.
- Do not obstruct the grilles; remove dust periodically with a dry cloth and with the equipment unplugged.
- Regularly check the condition of the cable, plug and casing; if you find cracks, damage or heat discolouration, stop using it.
- Do not open or modify the device; it contains components that may retain an electrical charge.
- Avoid tightly winding the cables or routing them through areas where they may be pinched or trodden on.
- If it will not be used for a while, unplug it and store it protected from moisture and direct sunlight.
Restrictions of use
- Recommended for indoor use and dry environments, except for models specifically designed for outdoor use.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets; not suitable for unsupervised use by minors.
- Do not use with appliances whose interruption could cause personal injury or significant property damage.
- Do not exceed the rated power nor connect equipment that exceeds the permitted inrush current.
- Do not use with generators or UPSs if the model does not indicate compatibility.
- Do not install inside closed furniture without ventilation or next to flammable materials.
- Do not use in bathrooms, very humid areas or in environments with potentially explosive atmospheres.
- For fixed-connection models, installation must be carried out by qualified personnel.
