Safety warnings and precautions
Key risks
- Leaks due to incorrectly fitted seals or loose connections, with the potential for water damage to furniture and flooring.
- Blockages caused by grease and food residues that may lead to water backing up and unpleasant odours.
- Risk of burns or deformation if very hot water is poured into plastic traps.
- Skin or eye irritation from contact with dirty water or chemical cleaners.
- Minor cuts when handling parts with sharp edges or when dismantling components.
- Slips due to spills during installation or cleaning.
- Odours due to evaporation of the water seal after long periods without use.
Safe use
- Before installing or dismantling, empty the sink, place a bucket and cloths; do not open the tap during the work.
- Check that the dimensions and layout are compatible with your sink and the available space; follow the manufacturer's instructions.
- Fit seals and washers correctly; hand-tighten until sealed, without forcing or over-tightening the joints.
- Align the pipes without twisting and avoid tools that could crack plastic parts.
- After installation, fill the sink and visually check all joints for leaks.
- Avoid pouring fats, oils and solids down the drain; use strainers.
- If using chemical drain cleaners, do not mix products, ventilate the area and wear the protection indicated on the packaging.
- For blockages, prioritise gentle mechanical methods (removing and cleaning the trap/bend) over aggressive products.
- Allow very hot water to cool before pouring it if the trap is plastic.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the trap and its seals in its packaging, in a dry place, protected from knocks, heat and direct sunlight.
- Periodically check for leaks, damp or cracks; replace hardened or worn seals.
- Clean the trap/bend periodically to remove grease and sediment; wear gloves.
- Do not use sharp objects that could damage the seals or the inside of the pipes.
- After long periods without use, pour a little water down the drain to restore the water seal and prevent odours.
- After cleaning or dismantling, reassemble in the correct order of parts and check the seal with water.
Usage restrictions
- Intended for use with compatible indoor sinks; not suitable for industrial applications or for corrosive liquids or solvents.
- Do not use the trap or pipework as a support or to hang objects.
- Do not connect appliances (washing machines, dishwashers) unless the model has a dedicated inlet for this.
- Keep small parts, screws and seals out of reach of children and pets; supervise during installation if children are nearby.
- If you notice cracks, deformations or persistent leaks that you cannot resolve safely, stop using it and consider replacement or the help of a qualified installer.
