Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Scalds from water that is too hot or sudden temperature changes.
- Slips and falls due to wet floors, soap or shampoo residue.
- Detachment or instability of the column if the fixings are loose or worn.
- Hose rupture or disconnection causing a sudden release of water.
- Damage from leaks to walls and floors, with risk of mould and damp.
- Minor knocks or cuts from loose parts or edges, especially on models with glass components or metal edges.
Safe use
- Turn on the water gradually and check the temperature with your hand before stepping under the showerhead; start with cold and increase it slowly.
- If the column has a temperature limiter or thermostatic control, set it to prevent excessive temperatures.
- Aim the shower handset towards the wall or floor when opening the flow and place it in its holder to avoid unexpected splashes.
- Keep the shower area clear and, if necessary, use a non-slip mat to reduce the risk of falling.
- Do not lean on or hang your body weight from the column; avoid hanging heavy objects that could strain the fixings.
- Operate only the intended controls and do not force them past their stops.
- Ensure correct installation and anchoring by following the instructions; if in doubt, consult a qualified installer.
- After use, close the controls fully and check that there are no drips.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild, pH-neutral soap; avoid abrasives, acids, bleach and scouring pads that could damage the finishes.
- Remove limescale from the spray nozzles by gently rubbing or using a suitable descaler as per the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Dry the showerhead and controls after each use to reduce limescale build-up and water marks.
- Periodically check the hose, seals, connections and fixings; replace any parts that are cracked, loose or worn.
- If you detect leaks or instability, close the isolation valve and do not use the shower until the issue has been resolved.
- Store accessories and spare parts in a dry place and out of the reach of children.
- After prolonged periods without use, let the water run for a few seconds when resuming to flush out any sediment.
Usage restrictions
- Intended for use in bathrooms; do not install outdoors or in corrosive environments unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
- Do not modify the structure or the connections, nor drill the column to add unspecified accessories.
- Do not exceed the pressure and temperature recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not use the column as a grab bar or a step.
- Avoid hanging baskets or other heavy objects from the pipe, the showerhead or the controls.
- Children, older adults or those with reduced heat sensitivity should use it under supervision with the temperature limited.
- Cease use if you notice unusual noises or vibrations, looseness or signs of damage, until it has been inspected and repaired.
