Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Toilet roll holder falling due to insufficient fixing (screws, adhesive or suction cup), with possible damage to tiles and risk of knocks.
- Finger pinches when fitting or removing the roll spindle, especially on spring‑loaded models or those with flip‑up covers.
- Minor cuts from sharp edges or deteriorated/rusty parts.
- Risk of inadvertently piercing hidden pipework or cables when drilling during installation.
- Tipping of free‑standing models if placed on uneven or wet surfaces.
- Skin or respiratory irritation from using harsh cleaners on the accessory.
Safe use
- Install the toilet roll holder on a firm, suitable surface; use fixings compatible with the wall type and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
- For adhesive or suction‑cup models, clean and dry the surface thoroughly, allow the indicated curing time, and check the hold before regular use.
- Hold the spindle with both hands when changing the roll and keep fingers away from the spring mechanism and hinges.
- Do not use the toilet roll holder as a support point, and do not hang from it or apply additional weight.
- Position it at a height and distance that allow you to reach the paper without overreaching or sudden twisting.
- For free‑standing models, place on a flat, dry surface; check its stability after moving or cleaning it.
- Avoid impacts or sharp tugs that could loosen the fixings or damage the finish.
Storage and maintenance
- Periodically check screws, brackets, adhesives or suction cups; retighten or replace parts if you notice looseness or detachment.
- Clean with a soft cloth and mild soap; rinse and dry to prevent corrosion and adhesive deterioration.
- Avoid abrasive products, harsh scouring pads, bleaches or acids that could damage the finish or weaken the fixings.
- Keep the area as dry as possible; avoid continuous exposure to direct water jets.
- Store screws, caps and spare parts in a dry place, out of reach of children and pets.
- If you detect sharp edges, rust or cracks, stop using the accessory until it is repaired or replaced.
Restrictions on use
- Do not use as a grab bar, step, or as support for sitting on or pushing yourself up.
- Do not hang additional items (bags, heavy towels or similar) that exceed the intended use of holding a roll of paper.
- Installation and handling should be carried out by adults; keep children and pets away during installation and prevent them from playing with the accessory.
- Do not install where it receives direct heat (radiators) or on surfaces that are loose, fragile or at risk of detachment.
- Do not drill without first checking for the possible presence of pipework or wiring in the wall.
