Usage Warnings
Wall-mounted Radiators
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Very hot surfaces that can cause burns on contact, especially to children and pets.
- Overheating and fire risk if the radiator is covered or combustible objects are placed too close (curtains, furniture, clothing).
- Electric shock or short circuit in electric models due to moisture, wet hands, damaged cables or improper connections.
- Hot water leaks in radiators connected to a central heating circuit, with a risk of minor burns and property damage.
- Tipping or detachment of the unit if it is not correctly fixed to the wall or if the wall cannot support the weight.
Safe use
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation and use. Where a fixed electrical connection or connection to the heating circuit is involved, have the installation carried out by qualified personnel.
- Leave free space around it for air circulation. Do not cover the radiator or obstruct grilles or heat outlets.
- Keep textiles, papers, aerosols and other flammable materials away from direct heat.
- Do not use the radiator as a clothes airer or hang items from it; only towels may be dried if the model is designed for this.
- Switch off and allow to cool before cleaning or handling. Use a dry or slightly damp cloth; do not apply high-pressure water or corrosive products.
- For electric models: do not handle with wet hands or use extension leads or multi-socket adaptors; check that the cable and plug are in good condition.
- For water-filled (central heating) models: bleed only when cold and with the appropriate tool; collect the water and do not force valves. If you detect drips, close the valve and ventilate the room.
- Ensure that brackets and fixings remain secure. Do not sit, stand or lean on the radiator.
Storage and maintenance
- Periodically remove dust from surfaces and fins to promote convection and prevent odours.
- Check fixings, screws and the general condition of the wall support; tighten if you notice any looseness.
- Electric models: inspect the cable, switch and plug. Do not use the appliance if there are cuts, deformation or abnormal heating.
- Water-filled models: watch for any signs of rust or damp and, if necessary, bleed the air as per the manual.
- Before prolonged absences, set the thermostat to a low temperature or frost-protection mode if available.
- If the product has not yet been installed, store it in its original packaging, in a dry place and protected from impacts. Avoid unstable stacking or placing weight on the connections.
Restrictions on use
- For indoor use. For bathrooms or other damp areas, use only models suitable for that environment and observe the safety clearances specified by the manufacturer.
- Do not install on walls that cannot support the weight of the radiator or on unstable surfaces.
- Do not modify, drill, paint with unsuitable products or cover with panels or covers that reduce heat dissipation.
- Do not use if it is damaged, loose, emits a burning smell, makes unusual noises or shows sparks; disconnect and have it checked before using again.
- Keep the product out of the reach of young children and supervise its use by vulnerable people.
- Avoid installing or using it in places with direct water splashes, corrosive vapours or flammable dust.
