Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Crushing of hands, fingers and parts due to movement of the ram/piston and the table/bed.
  • Sudden ejection of the workpiece, plates or tooling due to off-centre loading or abrupt pressure release.
  • Instability or tipping if the press is not properly levelled or if an off-centre load is applied.
  • Hydraulic oil leaks and high-pressure jets that can cause injury and slippery surfaces.
  • Entanglement and pinch points at guides, spindles, levers and pivot points.
  • Cuts from burrs, sharp edges or fractured parts.
  • Structural damage from overloading or use of unsuitable accessories.

Safe use

  • Install and use the press on a firm, level surface; anchor it to the bench or floor where appropriate.
  • Before each use, check the condition of the frame, table/bed, height pins, ram/piston, hoses and for any leaks.
  • Select compatible plates, tooling and dies in good condition; fully support the workpiece and centre the load on the ram/piston axis.
  • Keep hands out of the pressing zone at all times; use positioning tools (tongs, long-handled pushers) to place or remove parts.
  • Apply pressure gradually and in a controlled manner; stop at any unusual noises, abnormal deformations or irregular movements, and do not exceed the capacity specified by the manufacturer.
  • Stand to one side of the load line and keep others away; use protective screens if there is a risk of ejection.
  • Wear eye protection and safety footwear; use close-fitting gloves when handling parts, avoiding loose gloves near pinch points.
  • Do not add tubes or extensions to the levers or strike the structure to increase force.

Storage and maintenance

  • After use, release the pressure, lower the ram/piston and remove any load or tooling from the work area.
  • Clean the press and the work area of debris and oil to prevent slips.
  • Carry out periodic inspections of the frame, welds, pins, table/bed, ram/piston and hoses; replace worn or damaged parts.
  • Keep bolts and fasteners tightened; lubricate friction points according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Store plates, dies and accessories organised and protected to prevent impacts and deformation.
  • Protect the machine from excessive dust and moisture; store in a dry, ventilated place.
  • Remove from service any equipment that shows leaks, cracks or irregular movements until inspected.

Restrictions of use

  • Use restricted to adults with basic knowledge of safe operation; supervise inexperienced users.
  • Keep children and pets out of the work area.
  • Do not use the press to lift, support or transport loads, nor as a vehicle jack.
  • Do not exceed the rated capacity or apply lateral or eccentric loads.
  • Do not modify the frame or the hydraulic system, or remove guards or protective devices.
  • Do not use accessories that are cracked, deformed or incompatible with the model.
  • Do not operate if leaks, abnormal noises, knocking or misalignment are detected.
  • Do not work under the influence of alcohol, drugs or severe fatigue.
