Garden Spray Guns and Sprinklers
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Short-range jets that may irritate eyes or sensitive skin.
- Sudden disconnection of connectors or hoses under pressure, with possible knocks and leaks.
- Slippery surfaces caused by water or mud that may lead to falls.
- Tripping over hoses laid out or the sprinkler itself when left on the ground.
- Damage to delicate plants from using an overly concentrated jet.
- Flooding or pooling from leaving the tap open or the spray gun locked on.
- Electrical risk if water reaches sockets, appliances or extension leads.
- Cracks and breakages due to frost or prolonged sun exposure that degrade plastics and seals.
Safe use
- Before use, check that the spray gun and sprinklers show no cracks, deformations or leaks at connectors and seals.
- Connect the hose and accessories firmly; open the tap gradually and set the watering pattern while pointing away from people and pets.
- Keep the jet away from your face and do not look into the nozzle when it is connected or pressurised.
- Hold firmly when changing the pattern or opening/closing the water flow to avoid sudden twisting.
- Route the hose along the edges of walkways and avoid running it across doorways, stairs or busy paths.
- Do not lock the trigger or leave the spray gun pressurised unattended; always close the tap when you are not using the equipment.
- Keep a safe distance from sockets, light fittings and electrical appliances; avoid splashing connected equipment.
- If you use pumps or pressure reducers, set the working pressure to that recommended for the watering accessories.
Storage and maintenance
- Close the tap and release pressure before disconnecting; drain water from the spray gun and the sprinkler after each use.
- Store in a dry, shaded and well-ventilated place; avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Protect from frost: in cold weather, store indoors and do not leave the spray gun connected outdoors.
- Remove sand and dirt from the nozzle with a rinse; if the model allows, remove the diffuser for gentle cleaning without sharp objects.
- Periodically check seals and O-rings; replace any that are worn and, if appropriate, apply silicone lubricant to the seals to improve sealing.
- Avoid harsh cleaners; use water and mild soap and dry before storing.
Restrictions on use
- Not a toy. Keep out of reach of children; use by minors should only take place under adult supervision.
- Do not aim at people, animals, or towards sockets or electrical appliances.
- Do not use with very hot water, steam, or with corrosive chemicals, solvents or concentrated pesticides unless explicitly indicated by the manufacturer.
- Do not use for firefighting, industrial work, or with pressure washers or other high-pressure sources not intended for domestic watering.
- Do not modify, drill or force threads or connectors; stop using the equipment if it shows cracks, deformations or persistent leaks.
- Do not exceed the system's working pressure; if you use a pump, set and monitor the pressure to prevent damage to hoses, spray guns and sprinklers.
