Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Electrostatic discharge (ESD) that can damage the processor or the motherboard.
- Mechanical damage to pins or contacts when handling or installing, as well as to the motherboard socket.
- Overheating due to insufficient cooling, poor application of thermal paste or inadequate system ventilation.
- Short circuits caused by metal debris, loose screws or spilled conductive thermal compounds.
- System instability and data loss due to incorrect configurations, overclocking or poorly executed updates.
- Risk of minor burns when touching components that have been operating at high temperatures.
Safe use
- Verify compatibility with the motherboard (socket type and cooling requirements) before installing.
- Disconnect the system from the mains and discharge static electricity; work on a clean surface and, if possible, use an anti-static wrist strap or bag.
- Handle the processor by its edges; avoid touching pins or contacts and keep the protective covers in place until installation.
- Align the processor correctly with the socket mark and do not force the retention lever; if it does not seat smoothly, check the orientation.
- Apply thermal compound according to the manufacturer's instructions and avoid spills onto the board or contacts.
- Install a compatible heatsink/fan and secure it evenly; do not power on the system without adequate cooling.
- On first boot, monitor temperatures and fan operation; if you detect abnormal readings, power off and check the installation.
- Make frequency or voltage changes with caution; increasing these parameters raises heat and the risk of instability.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the processor in its original packaging or in an anti-static bag, with pin/contact protectors, in a dry, dust-free place.
- Avoid impacts, drops and pressure on the contacts; do not stack loose parts on top of the processor.
- Keep the contacts clean and dry; do not use harsh solvents or metal objects. If necessary, use dry compressed air.
- Periodically remove dust from the cooling system and check that the fan operates without abnormal noises or vibrations.
- Reapply thermal paste when you remove the heatsink or if you observe abnormally high temperatures.
- Before updating the BIOS/UEFI, read the manufacturer's instructions and back up your data.
Usage restrictions
- Product not suitable for children; keep out of their reach and avoid handling without adult supervision.
- Installation recommended for individuals with basic computer assembly knowledge; if you have no experience, seek assistance from someone experienced.
- Do not use the processor outside a compatible computer system or in environments with moisture, excessive dust or poor ventilation.
- Do not physically modify the processor (sanding, removing the heat spreader, drilling) or attempt to straighten pins by applying force.
- Do not use conductive thermal compounds unless you are proficient in their application, and avoid contact with board traces or components.
- Do not power on the system if the heatsink is missing, if the fan is not spinning or if you detect a burning smell or abnormal temperatures.
