Heat Press Machines

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Burns from contact with plates and surfaces that reach high temperatures and retain residual heat.
  • Entrapment or pinching at hinges and closing mechanisms when lowering or raising the press.
  • Electrical hazard due to damaged cables, loose plugs or improper connections.
  • Fire or overheating due to insufficient ventilation, incorrect settings, or the presence of flammable materials nearby.
  • Inhalation of fumes and odours from inks, coatings or adhesives when applying heat.
  • Breakage of rigid objects (due to thermal shock or excessive pressure), with possible ejection of fragments.
  • Tipping or sliding of the equipment if placed on unstable or non-heat-resistant surfaces.

Safe use

  • Position the press on a firm, level, stable and heat-resistant surface, with clear space around it.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation of the work area; avoid confined spaces and the build-up of fumes.
  • Use heat-resistant gloves and appropriate tools (tongs, spatulas) to handle hot items; consider eye protection when working with rigid objects.
  • Keep hands and clothing away from the closing area; operate the lever with control and avoid sudden movements.
  • Set temperature, time and pressure according to the material’s instructions; carry out tests with conservative settings.
  • Do not force the closure or exceed the thickness or size recommended for the equipment.
  • Keep the area free of loose papers, fabrics, flammable solvents and aerosols.
  • Plug the equipment into a socket in good condition and avoid overloading extension leads or multi-socket adaptors; keep cables away from hot parts and the lever's path.
  • Do not leave the machine on or hot unattended; remove items carefully and allow them to cool before handling with bare hands.
  • Use protective papers or non-stick sheets suitable for high temperatures to prevent staining on the plates.
  • Verify that the items to be sublimated are suitable for high temperatures and are clean and dry to minimise vapours.

Storage and maintenance

  • Always switch off and unplug before cleaning or making any adjustments; wait until it has completely cooled.
  • Clean the surfaces with a soft cloth; avoid abrasive products and scraping that could damage the plates.
  • Remove ink or paper residues when the equipment is cold; use protectors during work to keep the plates clean.
  • Periodically check the cable, plug, fasteners, springs, hinges and pads; replace worn parts according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Regularly check the uniformity of temperature and pressure, following the manufacturer’s guidance.
  • Keep vents and ventilation areas clear of dust and fibres.
  • Store the machine in a clean, dry place, free from damp; cover it to prevent dust when not in use.
  • Transport with the lid or arm secured; avoid impacts and sudden movements. Keep papers and consumables in their packaging, in a cool, dry environment.

Usage restrictions

  • Intended for adult use; keep out of reach of children and pets. Requires constant supervision while it is switched on or hot.
  • Do not use outdoors or in damp areas or near water.
  • Do not use if there is visible damage, a burning smell, noises or abnormal behaviour.
  • Do not modify the equipment or disable guards or mechanical stops.
  • Use only compatible accessories and consumables that are resistant to high temperatures.
  • Do not press materials that are not suitable for intense heat or that may melt, crack or emit irritating fumes.
  • Do not cover the machine or obstruct ventilation during operation.
  • Do not move or transport the press when it is switched on or still hot.
