Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Knocks, cuts or trapping injuries when handling the cistern, lid and internal mechanisms.
  • Falls or detachments if a high-level cistern or its brackets are not correctly secured.
  • Water leaks from loose connections, cracks or perished seals, with risk of damp and slips.
  • Overflow due to a misadjusted float or a blocked overflow.
  • Condensation on the outside that may drip and wet the floor.
  • Deterioration of seals and parts from harsh cleaners; possible irritation from splashes or vapours.
  • Accidental puncturing of pipes or cables when drilling for fixings.
  • Breakage due to impacts or frost in installations exposed to cold.

Safe use

  • Before installing or handling, close the isolation valve and empty the cistern.
  • Handle with gloves and hold by the sides; avoid lifting the unit by fittings or the mechanism.
  • For high-level cisterns, check the wall strength and use fixings suitable for the wall type; work with a stable ladder.
  • Check for hidden cables and pipes before drilling; wear eye protection when drilling.
  • Make connections without forcing and without over-tightening to avoid cracks; use the supplied seals.
  • Connect only to clean, cold water; do not add additives inside unless specified by the manufacturer.
  • Turn the water on slowly and check for leaks; perform several test flushes and adjust the fill level so the overflow remains operational.
  • Do not sit on, lean on, or place heavy objects on the lid or the cistern.
  • Operate levers or pull chains gently to prevent breakages.
  • Use compatible cleaners in moderate amounts; do not mix products (for example, bleach with acids); ventilate the bathroom when applying chemicals.
  • Wipe any droplets on the exterior to prevent slips.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store the cistern and accessories in a dry place, protected from impacts and, if plastic, from direct sunlight.
  • Keep seals, floats and valves free from load so they do not deform; keep fixings and small parts in sealed bags.
  • In cold or unheated areas, protect against frost; if it will be left inactive, drain the water.
  • Periodically check joints, flexible hoses, seals, screws and brackets (especially on high-level cisterns); re-tighten moderately if necessary.
  • Remove limescale with mild descalers and a cloth; avoid scouring pads, solvents, strong acids and concentrated bleach.
  • Operate the isolation valve from time to time to prevent sticking.
  • If there is continuous dripping or slow filling, clean or replace the affected parts following the manufacturer’s instructions.

Restrictions of use

  • Intended for use with mains water for flushing WCs; do not use as a reservoir for other liquids or chemicals.
  • Do not connect to hot water or to pressures or temperatures outside the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Do not install on weak or hollow walls without the appropriate anchoring system; do not hang from or apply loads to the cistern.
  • Do not modify or drill the cistern body; use only spares compatible with the model.
  • Do not handle the mechanisms with the water supply open, nor force levers or valves.
  • Keep small parts, tools and cleaning products out of the reach of children; prevent minors from playing with the lever or pull chain.
