• Tripping hazards from raised edges, creases or rugs that move.
• Slips on smooth floors if an appropriate non-slip underlay is not used.
• Risk of fire or burns if placed near fireplaces, stoves, embers or overheated cables.
• Floor staining or discolouration from dye transfer, trapped moisture or incompatible underlays.
• Irritation or allergies from dust, mites, fluff or initial odours from some materials.
• Mould and unpleasant odours when they remain damp or in poorly ventilated environments.
• Injuries when handling large or heavy rugs.

Safe use

• Unpack carefully, remove all plastic packaging, and air out before first use to dissipate odours.
• Place on a clean, dry and level surface; check it does not catch or block door openings.
• Use a non-slip underlay compatible with the floor type and trimmed to size to prevent movement.
• Ensure the corners lie flat; allow time for the rug to settle and for ripples to reduce.
• Keep away from heat sources, open flames and sparks; do not cover cables that may become hot.
• Dry spills immediately and air until completely dry to prevent mould.
• Vacuum regularly according to the manufacturer's instructions and remove loose fibres; avoid soaking when cleaning.
• Rotate the rug periodically to distribute wear and light exposure.
• On floors with underfloor heating, ensure the rug does not concentrate heat excessively and monitor the surface temperature.
• To move or position large rugs, do so with two people and avoid sudden pulls.

Storage and maintenance

• Store the rug clean, completely dry and rolled; avoid folding it to prevent marking the fibres or backing.
• Protect with a breathable cover and store in a dry, ventilated place, away from sources of heat and moisture.
• Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to reduce the risk of discolouration.
• Check the non-slip underlay periodically and replace it if it loses grip or degrades.
• Treat stains as soon as possible and test any cleaning product on a discreet area.
• Shake out or air outdoors to reduce dust and odours when needed.
• Do not machine-wash or use bleach unless expressly stated on the product label.

Restrictions of use

• Do not place on stairs except for models specifically designed and correctly secured.
• Do not use outdoors or in very humid areas (bathrooms, terraces) unless the rug is intended for such use.
• Do not cover ventilation grilles, sockets, loose cables or devices that generate heat.
• Avoid layering multiple rugs unless they are firmly fixed to each other and to the floor.
• Keep out of reach of babies and pets if it sheds fluff or includes fringes and small decorative pieces.
• Do not use underlays, tapes or adhesives that are incompatible with your floor finish.
• Avoid placing it in areas with an open flame or where sparks may fly.
