Main risks

• Burns from contact with hot surfaces, flames or embers, and from flying sparks.
• Fire due to proximity to textiles, furniture, flooring or combustible structures.
• Carbon monoxide and smoke poisoning from fuel-burning braziers used in inadequately ventilated spaces.
• Tipping over and falling embers due to impacts, unstable surfaces or improper use.
• Electrical risk in electric models due to damaged cables, faulty plugs, or overheating when the appliance is covered.
• Accidents due to the use of unsuitable fuels or accelerant liquids.

Safe use

• Place the brazier on a firm, level, non-combustible surface, leaving clear space around and above it.
• Use only the fuel recommended by the manufacturer; do not use petrol, alcohol or other flammable liquids to light or rekindle.
• Light using long-handled lighters or suitable firelighters, and keep your face and hands away from the ignition area.
• If solid- or liquid-fuel, maintain constant ventilation; avoid use in bedrooms and small or enclosed rooms.
• Do not move the brazier when lit or with embers; use heat-resistant gloves and tools to handle grates or lids.
• Do not cover the brazier or dry clothes over it; keep a safe distance from curtains, furniture and other combustible materials.
• Keep a suitable means of extinguishing to hand, such as sand, a fire blanket, or water if appropriate for the type of brazier.
• For electric models, connect to a suitable socket, avoid overloaded extension leads, and keep the cable away from hot areas and walkways; do not use in very humid environments.
• Outdoors, avoid use in strong winds that could disperse sparks or embers.

Storage and maintenance

• Allow to cool completely before moving, cleaning or emptying ashes.
• Dispose of cold ashes in a lidded metal container placed on a non-combustible surface and outdoors.
• Periodically clean soot residues and check that air inlets, grilles and structures show no deformation, cracks or significant rust; stop using it if you detect damage.
• Keep the brazier dry and protected from rain when not in use to prevent corrosion.
• Store fuels in their original container, in a cool, ventilated place away from sources of heat and sparks.
• For electric models, check the cable and plug regularly; unplug before cleaning and do not use the appliance if you notice a burning smell, sparks or abnormal heating.

Restrictions on use

• Use only under adult supervision; keep out of reach of children and pets and consider physical barriers when necessary.
• Do not use fuel-burning braziers in enclosed spaces without permanent ventilation; never during sleep or when you are away.
• Do not use on carpets, softwood or other unstable or combustible surfaces.
• Do not add fuel while there are strong flames or the reservoir is hot; wait for it to cool.
• Do not use as a grill or for cooking unless the product expressly states so.
• Avoid use if you have respiratory sensitivity in the presence of smoke; consider a carbon monoxide detector when fuels are used indoors with ventilation.
