Main hazards
- Ejection or ricochet of staples that may cause injuries to the eyes and hands.
- Punctures and cuts when placing fingers near the stapler’s nose or when removing staples.
- Unintentional firing when loading, carrying or setting down the tool.
- Jams which, when released suddenly, may cause unexpected staple ejection.
- Wear or breakage of the mechanism, with possible loss of control or detachment of parts.
- Accidental puncturing of electrical cables, pipes or other hidden elements in walls or frames.
- Hand and wrist fatigue due to repeated use or excessive force.
Safe use
- Wear safety glasses and, where appropriate, work gloves.
- Keep fingers and your other hand away from the line of fire; hold the tool flat and perpendicular to the surface.
- Never point at people or animals; work with good lighting and the area clear.
- Before stapling into walls, frames or floors, check that there are no hidden cables or pipes.
- Use only compatible staples of the correct size for the material; test on an offcut to verify penetration.
- Load or unload with the stapler’s nose pointing away from you; if it has a safety catch or lock, engage it when not in use.
- If a jam occurs, unload the tool and follow the manufacturer’s clearing procedure; do not force the handle.
- Maintain a stable stance and do not apply more force than necessary to avoid slipping or loss of control.
- Keep bystanders away, especially when stapling near edges or corners where the staple may ricochet.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the stapler unloaded, with the handle or lock closed if fitted, in a dry place and out of the reach of children.
- Keep staples in their packaging and in a dry environment to prevent rust and jams.
- Periodically clean away dust and debris; promptly remove any loose staples from the work area.
- Regularly check for cracks, looseness or deformation; stop using it if you detect any damage.
- Carry out lubrication and adjustments only as per the manufacturer’s instructions; replace worn parts with suitable spares.
Restrictions on use
- This is not a toy: do not allow children to use it without adult supervision.
- Do not use on extremely hard materials (metal, concrete, stone) unless permitted by the manufacturer, to avoid ricochet or damage.
- Do not modify springs, stops or mechanisms; do not use makeshift or bent staples.
- Do not use to fasten electrical cables or other conductors except with models and staples specifically designed for that purpose.
- Avoid working from unstable ladders or overhead when you do not have full control of the line of fire.
- Do not carry the stapler loaded in your pocket or with your hand on the handle; use the lock or a holster when transporting it.
