Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Electrical hazard from faulty connections, damaged cables or handling the unit while energised.
- Falling of the indoor or outdoor unit due to inadequate fixings or vibration.
- Injury from contact with moving fans or the heat exchanger's metal fins.
- Drips and damage due to a blocked condensate drain or ice build-up on the outdoor unit.
- Refrigerant or water leaks: risk from contact with very low temperatures and inadequate ventilation of the space.
- Overheating or fire when grilles are covered, dust accumulates or the unit is placed next to combustible materials.
- Deterioration of air quality and odours due to dirty filters or internal moisture.
Safe use
- Installation and commissioning must be carried out by qualified personnel, using appropriate, level supports.
- Keep air inlets and outlets free of obstructions; observe clearance for ventilation around both units.
- Do not insert fingers or objects into grilles; keep the covers closed during operation.
- Switch off and isolate the power supply before cleaning or handling the unit; do not use high-pressure water or solvents.
- Clean or replace the filters at the frequency recommended by the manufacturer; check that the drain hose is not kinked or blocked.
- Do not cover the unit or use it to dry clothes or place objects on it.
- If you detect smoke, a burning smell, sparks, unusual noises or leaks, switch off the unit, cut the power and ventilate the area.
Storage and maintenance
- Before installation, keep the unit in its original packaging, in the indicated position, in a dry place protected from impacts.
- Periodically check that the supports and fixings are secure; if you notice play or corrosion, do not use the unit and request a technical inspection.
- Keep the outdoor unit area clear: remove leaves, dust, snow or objects that block the airflow.
- Clean louvres and covers with a soft cloth, dry or slightly damp; dry thoroughly before switching on.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and replacing filters, avoiding dust build-up and odours.
- Periodically check the proper drainage of condensate water to prevent drips on walls or floors.
- If you will not use it for an extended period, run a drying/ventilation cycle if the unit allows it and keep it switched off; cover the outdoor unit only when it is disconnected and completely dry.
- Any intervention in the refrigerant circuit or electrical connections must be carried out by qualified personnel.
Usage restrictions
- Do not attempt to install, recharge or repair the unit yourself.
- Do not use the appliance in environments with flammable gases, vapours or dusts, nor near heat sources or combustible materials.
- Do not operate the unit if it shows signs of impact, cracked covers, damaged cables, burning smells or water leaks.
- Do not allow children to play with the remote control or tamper with the grilles; supervision is required for minors and vulnerable persons.
- Do not block the condensate drain or kink its pipes; avoid discharging water over walkways.
- Do not climb on, sit on or place weight on the indoor or outdoor units.
- Do not modify trunking, pipework or system cables.
- Do not power the unit via power strips or extension leads.
