Usage Warnings

Electronic Tap Circuits

Warnings and safety precautions

Main risks

  • Risk of electric shock when handling the circuit with the power connected or with wet hands.
  • Short circuits and system failure due to water ingress, condensation or damaged cables.
  • Possible leaks or drips from the tap assembly if, after replacing the circuit, covers, grommets or associated connections are not properly seated.
  • Unintended tap activations (continuous operation) due to incorrect sensor or solenoid connections, wasting water.
  • Module overheating or battery damage from using an unsuitable power supply or reversing the polarity.
  • Sudden changes in flow rate or temperature if the system is left misadjusted after servicing.

Safe use

  • Before installing, replacing or handling, shut off the water supply and disconnect the power (mains or batteries).
  • Verify that the spare part is compatible with the tap model and with the type of sensor and power supply recommended by the manufacturer.
  • Keep electronic components dry; do not immerse or expose to direct jets. Immediately dry any splashes on the module.
  • Connect observing the polarity and orientation of the connectors; do not force, do not strip cables or make improvised splices.
  • Route and secure the wiring, avoiding pinching, sharp edges and moving parts of the cabinet or the basin.
  • Refit covers, seals and housings according to the tap’s design; do not leave control boxes open.
  • After assembly, restore water and power and check: correct opening and closing, absence of drips, no continuous activations and that the resulting temperature is comfortable.
  • Use only cells or batteries of the specified type; do not mix new with used or different technologies. Observe polarity and remove any battery showing signs of leakage.
  • Clean the sensor area and the module with a soft, dry cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners, strong alcohols and spraying directly onto the electronics.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store spares in their original packaging, in a dry, clean place, protected from extremes of temperature.
  • Avoid prolonged humidity and condensation; do not store outdoors or near sources of heat.
  • Before any maintenance, disconnect the power and shut off the water.
  • Periodically check cables, connectors and housings: look for looseness, cuts, corrosion or rust and replace whatever is necessary.
  • If the system runs on batteries and will not be used for a period, remove them and store in a safe place, out of the reach of children.
  • Keep the contacts clean and dry; if necessary, gently clean with a dry cloth.

Restrictions of use

  • For use exclusively as a replacement for compatible electronic taps; do not use the circuit for other purposes or modify it.
  • Do not use with power supplies, chargers or batteries not specified for the tap.
  • Do not immerse or rinse the circuit under the tap; do not use if it shows cracks, stripped wires, corrosion or unusual odours.
  • Keep out of the reach of children; install the module in a protected, enclosed area of the bathroom cabinet.
  • Installation, adjustment and repair must be carried out by persons with appropriate knowledge of plumbing and low-voltage electrics, where applicable.
  • Do not use in exposed outdoor locations or in explosive atmospheres.
