Safety warnings and precautions
Key risks
- Leaks and drips due to incompatible threads, worn seals, or over-/under-tightening.
- Pressurised water discharge when removing aerators or flexible hoses without closing the isolation valve or depressurising first.
- Scalds from hot water when testing the installation or due to reversed hot/cold connections.
- Minor cuts from metal edges and pinches when handling parts and tools.
- Damage to the tap, sink or worktop due to twisting, impacts or improper use of tools.
- Reduced flow or deterioration in water taste due to limescale and debris build-up in filters or aerators.
Safe use
- Close the isolation valve and open the tap to release pressure before installing, replacing or cleaning any fitting.
- Check size compatibility, thread type and flow direction before installation.
- Use the specified seals and sealing elements for each connection; do not force threads and tighten gradually and moderately.
- Use appropriate tools and protect finishes with a cloth between the tool and the part to prevent marking.
- Keep hands away from sharp edges and consider wearing work gloves where appropriate.
- After installation, turn the water on gradually, flush for a few seconds and visually inspect for possible leaks.
- Verify that the flow rate and temperature are correct before normal use.
Storage and maintenance
- Store parts in a dry, ventilated place away from heat sources or direct sunlight.
- Keep seals, filters and cartridges in their packaging until use to prevent dust, dirt and deformation.
- Avoid bending or twisting flexible hoses; protect threads and chrome-plated surfaces from impacts and scratches.
- Periodically clean aerators and filters with non-abrasive products to remove limescale and impurities; rinse thoroughly before reinstalling.
- Regularly check for signs of corrosion, cracks, looseness or leaks and replace any deteriorated components.
- Do not use aggressive descalers or scouring pads that could damage seals and finishes.
Usage restrictions
- Accessories intended for domestic kitchen water installations; not suitable for steam, chemical fluids or high-pressure applications.
- Do not use parts that are damaged, deformed or corroded.
- Keep small parts, seals and fasteners out of the reach of children and pets due to risk of ingestion.
- Do not modify, drill or combine components in any way other than as intended by the manufacturer.
- Do not proceed if you cannot close the isolation valve or if the work affects concealed pipework; in such cases, contact a qualified installer.
