Safety warnings and precautions

Key risks

  • Slips and falls from wet surfaces, soap, cream or algae residues.
  • Trips on raised edges or due to uneven settling of the tray.
  • Cuts or injuries if there are damaged edges, loose parts or breakages.
  • Standing water from a blocked drain, increasing the risk of slipping and attracting insects.
  • Surface heating from intense sunlight, with possible minor burns to the feet.
  • Ice or frost in winter making the surface extremely slippery and potentially causing cracking.
  • Damage due to overloading or heavy impacts.

Safe use

  • Place the tray on a firm, level and stable base; check it does not move before use.
  • Ensure the drain runs freely and that the grate is not blocked.
  • Enter and exit carefully; use non-slip footwear if you consider it necessary.
  • Keep the surface free of leaves, sand, soap or oils that increase the risk of slipping.
  • Do not jump on it or strike it; distribute weight and avoid dragging hard objects across the surface.
  • If the surface is very hot from the sun, cool it with water before stepping on it.
  • Do not use it if you notice instability, cracks or unusual noises underfoot.
  • Ensure sufficient lighting for night-time use to see the edge and surrounding area.
  • In frost conditions, wait for it to thaw or carefully remove the ice before use.

Storage and maintenance

  • Clean with water and pH-neutral mild soap; rinse and dry to reduce slippery residues.
  • Avoid abrasive scourers, solvents or concentrated chlorine products that could damage the finish.
  • Periodically remove leaves, sand and sludge from the drain; clean the grate when necessary.
  • Check the condition of seals and joints; if you detect cracks or movement, stop using it until it has been repaired.
  • In winter, prevent standing water that could freeze; if it will not be used for a while, cover it.
  • If the model includes slats or grilles, check that they are secure and free of splinters.
  • Avoid impacts with tools, plant pots or heavy objects that could crack it.

Restrictions on use

  • Observe the maximum load indicated by the manufacturer; do not use it as a step, seat or work platform.
  • Do not install or use it on soft or unstable ground that may subside.
  • Do not drag furniture, barbecues or sharp-edged objects across the surface.
  • Do not use caustic cleaners, solvents or very high-pressure water jets at close range.
  • Do not allow use by children without adult supervision; take extra care with people with reduced mobility.
  • Do not walk on it with stiletto heels, nails or spikes that could mark or puncture it.
  • Do not use the tray if there are loose, broken or sharp parts; remove it from service until repaired or replaced.
  • Avoid placing it near direct heat sources or embers that could warp or damage it.
