Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Electric shock from handling live wiring.
- Falls or impacts during installation at height.
- Cuts or impacts from the blades if the fan starts running.
- Overheating or fire starting due to using unsuitable bulbs or exceeding the rated wattage.
- The light assembly falling due to poorly tightened or incompatible fixings.
- Damage to wiring if it rubs against the blades or other moving parts.
- Breakage of diffusers or shades with a risk of cuts from fragments.
- Glare or annoying flicker due to incompatibility with dimmers or bulbs.
Safe use
- Check that the kit is compatible with your fan (mounting type, available space and connections specified by the manufacturer).
- Switch off the power at the consumer unit before starting, and wait until the fan has come to a complete stop.
- Work with a stable ladder, on a firm surface and with adequate lighting.
- Secure fixings and brackets firmly; the assembly should not move or vibrate.
- Route the cables away from the blades and moving parts; check that nothing rubs when the fan rotates.
- Use only bulbs of the type and wattage specified for the kit; do not cover the light fitting or block ventilation.
- After installation, carry out a brief supervised test to detect any abnormal noises, smells or overheating.
- If you have no experience with electrical installations, consider having a qualified person carry out the installation.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the kit and its accessories in a dry place, protected from dust, damp and impacts.
- Keep screws, diffusers and small parts in their bags or boxes to avoid loss or damage.
- Before cleaning or replacing bulbs, always switch off the power and wait for parts to cool.
- Clean with a soft, dry cloth; avoid abrasive products or water on electrical connections.
- Periodically check screws, fixings, cables and diffusers; tighten and replace anything that is loose, damaged or heat-discoloured.
- Use only compatible spares and bulbs recommended for the kit; do not modify or drill electrical components.
Restrictions of use
- Not suitable for outdoor use or areas with high humidity unless the product expressly states otherwise.
- Do not exceed the maximum rated wattage or use dimmer switches that are not compatible with the kit or the bulbs.
- Do not connect additional accessories to the fan that are not intended by the manufacturer.
- Do not handle the kit while the fan is running or immediately after switching it off.
- Do not allow children to handle the product or play nearby during installation or maintenance.
- Do not use the kit if you notice cracks in diffusers, frayed or exposed wires, a burning smell or loose parts.
