Warnings and safety precautions

Key risks

  • Cuts or pinches when using blade scrapers, tweezers and magnetic cleaners.
  • Breakage or scratching of glass/acrylic due to impacts, excessive pressure or improper use of magnets and tools.
  • Falls of poorly secured accessories (suction cups, clips), with possible damage to the aquarium or its inhabitants.
  • Accidental suction of fish, fry or substrate when using siphons and hoses.
  • Water contamination from the use of soaps, household products or materials not suitable for aquarium use.
  • Entanglement and tripping hazards with hoses, tubing and cords during cleaning and water changes.
  • Risk of choking or ingestion of small parts by children or pets.

Safe use

  • Switch off and unplug aquarium equipment (filters, heaters, lights) before putting your hands in or handling accessories.
  • Rinse new accessories with lukewarm water without soaps or detergents before first use.
  • Check the accessory is compatible with the aquarium’s material and size; avoid applying excessive pressure to panes and corners.
  • Handle magnetic cleaners with care: keep fingers clear of the closing faces and move them slowly to avoid striking the glass.
  • When using blade scrapers, wear gloves if necessary and always keep the blade guard fitted when not in use.
  • Control the flow of siphons and hoses; use pre-filters or guards where possible and never start a siphon by sucking with your mouth.
  • Attach suction cups and clips to clean surfaces, pressing until firmly secured; check them before leaving them unattended.
  • Avoid sudden changes and rapid movements inside the aquarium to prevent stressing the fish or stirring up excessive sediment.
  • To prevent pathogen transmission between aquaria, rinse and dry tools between uses.

Storage and maintenance

  • Rinse accessories with fresh water after each use and allow to air-dry before storing.
  • Store in a dry, ventilated place away from direct sunlight or heat sources to prevent degradation of plastics and suction cups.
  • Regularly check the condition of suction cups, hoses, seals and blades; replace immediately if you notice wear, cracks or rust.
  • Avoid contact with household cleaning products, aerosols and perfumes; they may leave residues harmful to the aquarium.
  • Store magnets with spacers and away from sensitive electronic devices.
  • Coil hoses without sharp kinks and check that they do not show hardening or cloudiness before reusing.
  • Store cutting tools with their sheath or guard, out of the reach of children and pets.

Usage restrictions

  • Not suitable as a toy; keep out of the reach of children and use under adult supervision if they participate in basic tasks.
  • Do not use detergents, bleach or other chemicals on accessories that will come into contact with aquarium water.
  • Avoid metal blades or scrapers on aquaria made of materials that are prone to scratching.
  • Do not force connections between parts, hoses or adapters of incompatible size/thread.
  • Do not leave tools, magnets or hoses inside the aquarium permanently unless they are designed for that purpose.
  • Keep powerful magnets away from pacemakers and electronic devices.
  • Do not block filter inlets or outlets or place accessories where they could trap fish.
  • Do not leave nets, traps or automatic feeders running for long periods without supervision.
