Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Breakage of glass or acrylic due to impacts, uneven support or overloading, with a risk of cuts and water leaks.
- Tipping or collapse of the cabinet/stand if it cannot support the total weight or is poorly levelled.
- Electric shock from water contacting lighting, filters, pumps or heaters.
- Water damage to floors and furniture due to leaks, condensation or spills.
- Burns from touching hot heaters or lighting during handling.
- Risks to children and pets: access to the water, opening lids, or tipping the setup.
- Harm to fish from sudden temperature changes or from using products not suitable for aquariums.
Safe use
- Place the aquarium on a dedicated, stable stand that is perfectly level and capable of supporting the full weight when filled (water, substrate and decorations).
- Use a suitable base or mat between the aquarium and the stand to distribute the load and reduce stress on the base.
- Position the setup away from walkways, edges and sources of vibration; avoid direct sunlight and heat sources.
- Do not move the aquarium when full; drain it before moving to prevent breakage.
- Handle electrics with dry hands; disconnect equipment before maintenance, create a drip loop in cables and place extension leads above the waterline.
- Never switch heaters on out of water and allow them to cool before removing.
- Add rocks and decorations carefully without dropping them; avoid striking the glass.
- Secure lids and fasteners to prevent unauthorised access and fish jumping, while allowing ventilation for the equipment.
- Use only aquarium-safe conditioners and cleaners; avoid bleach, detergents and sprays near the water.
Storage and maintenance
- Regularly inspect seals, sealant, fixings and levelling feet; replace any damaged parts.
- Wipe up splashes and condensation immediately to prevent swelling, warping and slips.
- Clean the glass with aquarium-specific tools; avoid scouring pads or abrasive products that could scratch.
- After assembly or relocation, check for leaks with a gradual, supervised fill.
- Disconnect from the mains before handling filters, pumps or lighting; if equipment becomes wet externally, allow it to dry completely before plugging in.
- Store empty aquariums protected from impacts and sudden temperature changes; do not stack them directly on one another.
- Keep the cabinet in a dry, ventilated place, minimising prolonged exposure to splashes.
- Organise and secure cabling to prevent pulls and trips; replace damaged cables or plugs.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use the cabinet/stand for sitting, standing or as a step; do not hang heavy items from doors or shelves.
- Do not place the aquarium on uneven or soft surfaces, or on surfaces not designed to support its weight.
- Do not install the setup outdoors unless explicitly stated by the manufacturer.
- Do not overload the cabinet with reservoirs, buckets or other additional heavy objects.
- Do not allow children to handle the aquarium or equipment without adult supervision.
- Do not place sharp or very heavy objects that could fall and fracture the glass.
- Do not block ventilation slots of lighting units, filters or lids.
- Do not use insecticides, solvents or aerosol air fresheners near the aquarium.
