Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Cuts from metal edges or sharp parts during handling or assembly.
  • Falling components or misalignment if the kit is not secured correctly.
  • Reduced airflow, excessive noise, or cooker hood motor overload due to blocked outlets, poorly routed ducting, or saturated filters.
  • Grease build-up and risk of smoke or, in extreme cases, ignition if there are high flames under the cooker hood and the filters are dirty.
  • Release of activated carbon dust when handling filters, with possible respiratory or eye irritation.

Safe use

  • Check the kit’s compatibility with your cooker hood model before installing.
  • Disconnect the cooker hood from the mains before any intervention. Work with the hob area cool.
  • Use protective gloves and, if handling carbon filters, avoid inhaling the dust.
  • Install following the manufacturer’s instructions, without forcing any fittings. Keep the air outlet grilles clear.
  • Avoid over-bending the ducting or creating kinks that limit the flow.
  • Do not cook with high flames or flambé under the cooker hood, especially with dirty or saturated filters.
  • After fitting or replacing filters, check they are properly seated with no play or gaps.
  • If installation requires drilling, use appropriate fixings and check there are no cables, gas lines or pipes in the wall or ceiling. If it involves opening the appliance or electrical work, have it carried out by a qualified technician.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store carbon filters in their original packaging, in a dry, cool place, away from sources of heat and humidity.
  • Do not crush or pierce the filters. Handle them gently to avoid dispersing dust.
  • Replace the carbon filters when efficiency decreases (persistent odours, lower extraction, or saturation indication), following the manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Do not wash disposable carbon filters. If your model is washable, follow the instructions and ensure they are completely dry before use.
  • Clean the cooker hood’s metal grease filters regularly to reduce grease build-up.
  • Regularly check that ducts, elbows and deflectors are secure, with no cracks or obstructions.
  • After any maintenance, check for vibrations, unusual noises or air leaks.

Restrictions on use

  • Product intended for compatible domestic cooker hoods. Not suitable for professional kitchens or for other equipment.
  • Do not use the kit to vent combustion fumes or as a general home ventilation system.
  • Do not modify parts or cut filters in a way that reduces airflow or compromises secure fixing.
  • Do not operate the cooker hood without the grease filter installed and correctly positioned.
  • Do not cover or block the grilles of the recirculated air outlet with objects or fabrics.
  • Keep components out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Avoid using the kit in environments with corrosive vapours, excessive dust or extreme temperatures that could deteriorate its materials.
