Safety warnings and precautions

Key risks

  • Burns from contact with very hot surfaces, heating elements, spits and trays.
  • Splashes of hot fat or juices when opening the door or removing the food.
  • Fire risk due to grease build-up, blocked vents or proximity to combustible materials.
  • Electric shock due to moisture, spills or a damaged cable/plug.
  • Entrapment or injury from the rotating mechanism if handled while running.
  • Cuts from sharp prongs, hooks or supports on the spit.
  • Tipping or sliding of the appliance if placed on unstable or sloped surfaces.
  • Excessive smoke due to overheating or incorrectly positioned food touching the heating elements.

Safe use

  • Place the rotisserie on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, leaving space around it for ventilation.
  • Keep curtains, paper, oils, aerosols and other flammable materials away.
  • Do not cover grilles or ventilation openings; avoid lining areas that impede airflow.
  • Do not move the appliance during operation or immediately afterwards; allow it to cool before moving it.
  • Use oven gloves and heat-resistant utensils when handling trays, the spit and food.
  • Secure and balance the chicken well on the spit to prevent vibration, rubbing and spills.
  • Fit the drip tray correctly and prevent it from overflowing; empty it only when it is cold.
  • Do not leave the rotisserie unattended while cooking.
  • Keep the cable away from hot surfaces and points of strain; avoid overloaded extension leads.
  • Disconnect from the mains and allow to cool before cleaning, fitting accessories or removing the spit.
  • Avoid pouring water onto hot fat; if unusual smoke appears, switch off, unplug and ventilate the area.
  • When opening the door, do so carefully to avoid a blast of steam and splashes.

Storage and maintenance

  • Regularly clean grease and food residues when the appliance is cold to reduce smoke and fire risk.
  • Check the condition of the cable, plug, accessories and supports; do not use the appliance if you notice visible damage.
  • Dry removable parts completely before storing them to prevent corrosion and mould.
  • Avoid abrasive products or scouring pads that could damage surfaces and coatings.
  • Check that the interior is free from debris before each use and that the drip tray is in place.
  • Store the rotisserie in a dry, clean, well-ventilated place, out of the reach of children.
  • Do not wind the cable tightly around the appliance; avoid sharp bends.
  • If you detect burning odours or abnormal operation, stop using it and allow it to cool before inspecting and cleaning it.

Usage restrictions

  • Indoor use on a stable worktop; do not use outdoors or in damp environments.
  • Not suitable for heat-sensitive materials (plastics, wraps or sealed containers not designed for oven use).
  • Do not add large quantities of liquid; water coming into contact with hot fat can cause violent splashing.
  • Avoid overloading the spit or trays; observe the manufacturer's stated capacity.
  • Do not use the appliance if it is wet or after a heavy fall until its condition has been checked.
  • Do not allow children to operate it; keep children and pets away during operation and cooling.
  • People with heat sensitivity, or reduced mobility or perception should use it under supervision.
  • Do not modify the appliance or use accessories that are not compatible with the model.
