Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Cuts from metal edges, shattered glass or broken parts.
- Finger trapping in hinges, rollers and tracks.
- Panels or stabilising bars falling if not secured correctly.
- Slips on wet floors during installation or watertightness tests.
- Irritation from contact with or inhalation of sealants, adhesives or cleaners.
- Damage to tiles, waterproofing, pipes or cables when drilling.
- Incompatibility of the spare causing leaks, misalignment or door jamming.
Safe use
- Verify the spare’s compatibility with the model and opening type of your shower enclosure before installation.
- Work in a clear, dry and well-lit area; use cut-resistant gloves and eye protection where appropriate.
- If the spare includes glass, handle it upright with two people and avoid striking the edges.
- Secure and chock doors or panels before loosening screws or bolts to prevent unexpected falls.
- Do not force screws or tracks; align parts and tighten progressively to avoid distortion.
- Keep magnets, seals and rollers free of dirt; do not lubricate unless instructed by the manufacturer and avoid oils that may stain.
- Ventilate when applying silicone or other sealants and observe curing times before using the shower.
- Before drilling, check for hidden services and use tools appropriate to the type of surface/tiling.
- Carry out a closure and watertightness test with a small amount of water; dry spills immediately to prevent slips.
Storage and maintenance
- Store seals, profiles and magnets in a cool, dry place, away from heat and direct sunlight to prevent deformation.
- Keep screws and small parts in closed, labelled containers, out of the reach of children.
- If you have a spare glass panel, store it upright on a padded surface with nothing on top.
- Clean tracks, guides and seals periodically with neutral cleaners; avoid abrasives, metal scouring pads and strong acidic products.
- Periodically check screw tightness, alignment and the condition of seals and rollers; replace parts that are hardened, cracked or rusted.
- Dry the seals after each use to prolong their service life and reduce mould growth.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use bars, profiles or handles to support your weight, to hang items or to climb.
- Do not modify, cut or drill parts unless expressly permitted by the manufacturer.
- Do not install on loose, cracked or damp surfaces without first resolving the issue.
- Do not allow children to handle small parts or take part in the installation without adult supervision.
- Do not use spare parts that are damaged, deformed or have sharp edges.
- Do not mix components from different systems unless they are designed to work together.
