Usage Warnings
Bathroom Waste Bins
Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Finger entrapment in the lid, hinges or when operating the pedal.
- Tipping and slipping hazards if the bin is placed on wet or unstable surfaces.
- Cuts from damaged edges or sharp waste (e.g. glass, disposable blades).
- Poor hygiene and odours due to the build-up of sanitary waste in damp environments.
- Risk of choking or strangulation to children and pets from bin bags.
- Damage from corrosion or loose parts due to constant humidity.
- Fire risk if cigarette ends or still-hot items are placed inside.
Safe use
- Place the bin on a flat, dry, non-slip surface, away from the shower area or direct splashes.
- Keep hands clear of hinges and edges when opening or closing; operate the pedal (if present) without forcing.
- Use correctly sized bin bags and do not overfill; avoid compacting waste forcefully to prevent rips.
- When removing the bag, tie it before taking it out and lift it vertically to avoid spills; consider wearing gloves when handling sanitary waste.
- Wrap sharp or pointed waste securely before disposal; do not place it loose.
- Do not put loose liquids, corrosive products or hot items inside; allow them to cool before disposal.
- If the model includes an automatic lid or electrical components, avoid direct contact with water and handle batteries with dry hands.
- Ventilate the bathroom regularly to reduce condensation and the build-up of mould and odours.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean periodically with warm water and a mild, pH-neutral soap; rinse and dry all surfaces thoroughly.
- Avoid scouring pads or abrasive cleaners and concentrated chlorine-based products that may discolour or corrode; if you use disinfectants, follow the recommended dosage and rinse afterwards.
- Regularly check the lid, hinges, pedal and inner bucket; stop using the bin if it has cracks, sharp edges or loose parts.
- Empty the bin regularly, especially if it contains sanitary waste, to minimise odours and bacterial growth.
- Do not drag the bin across wet floors; move it by holding the handles or inner bucket (if fitted) to prevent tipping.
- Keep the base dry and remove any water accumulated from condensation or splashes to preserve the surfaces in good condition.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use as a step, seat or support; it is intended solely for use as a container for light waste.
- Not suitable for continuous outdoor use or areas of direct exposure to the elements.
- Do not dispose of flammable or corrosive substances, syringes or other hazardous waste; use specific containers for that type of waste.
- Keep the bin and bags out of the reach of young children and pets; do not allow them to play with the lid or the pedal.
- Do not attempt to repair springs, hinges or mechanisms under tension; if they are damaged, stop using the product.
- Avoid placing it where it may obstruct exits, narrow passageways or become an obstacle in an emergency.
