Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Overheating of the phone or charger may cause burns or start a fire, especially when charging on soft or covered surfaces.
- Electric shock from damaged cables or adapters, damp mains sockets, or handling with wet hands.
- Cuts from broken glass on the screen or camera, and pinches when handling the SIM tray.
- Hearing damage from prolonged use at high volume during calls, via the speaker or with headphones.
- Choking or accidental ingestion of small parts (SIM tray, ejection tool, earbud tips) by children or pets.
- Interference with pacemakers or other medical implants, especially with accessories or cases containing magnets.
- Fire or explosion in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres (petrol stations, workshops with vapours or flammable dust).
- Trips, falls or strangulation due to long power or headphone cables.
- Risk during thunderstorms when using corded landline phones connected to the line.
- Distractions that can cause accidents when driving or walking near traffic.
Safe use
- Use compatible, undamaged chargers and cables; connect them in well-ventilated, accessible locations.
- Do not cover the phone while it is charging or place it under pillows, blankets or inside bags; allow space for heat to dissipate.
- Stop using and charging if you notice a burning smell, swelling, liquid, sparks or unusual heat from the device, battery or charger.
- Keep the phone and accessories dry; do not use them if they are wet and wait until they are completely dry before charging.
- If you have a pacemaker or other implant, keep a reasonable distance, use the opposite ear and avoid resting the phone or accessories with magnets over the implant area.
- Set the volume to moderate levels and limit prolonged exposure to high volumes.
- Do not use the phone while driving or during activities that require attention; stop in a safe place to use it.
- Do not open, pierce or modify the phone or the battery; stop using batteries that are dented, swollen or damaged.
- Keep cables tidy to prevent pulling, tripping, or access by children and pets.
- Avoid charging or using the phone in areas with vapours, gases or flammable dust present; switch it off in such areas.
- During thunderstorms, avoid using corded landline phones connected to the line.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the phone and its accessories in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from heat sources, direct sunlight and moisture.
- Do not leave it in a car in direct sun or in very cold environments; sudden temperature changes can cause condensation.
- If you will not be using it for a while, charge it periodically to avoid deep discharge of the battery.
- Regularly check cables, chargers, connectors and the condition of the screen and casing; replace any damaged component.
- Clean it with a soft, dry cloth; disconnect the charger before cleaning and avoid liquids, aerosols or abrasive products.
- Do not insert objects into the ports; handle the SIM tray with the proper tool and close it correctly to reduce ingress of dust or moisture.
- Use suitable cases and protectors to mitigate damage from drops, without fully covering the device while charging.
Restrictions on use
- Not a toy: keep the phone, the SIM ejection tool and other small parts out of reach of young children and pets; supervise use by minors, especially volume and cables.
- Do not use or charge the phone on flammable materials, under a pillow or inside closed cases or bags.
- Do not use or charge it in the bath, the shower, swimming pools or with wet surfaces nearby.
- Do not expose the device or battery to flames, radiators or ovens (including microwaves), and do not incinerate or pierce it.
- Follow safety instructions in hospitals, on aircraft and in signposted areas; disable wireless functions when required.
- If the screen is badly broken or the battery or charger shows visible damage, do not use it until it has been safely repaired or replaced.
- People with medical implants should follow the recommendations of their implant manufacturer and avoid accessories with magnets over the implanted area.
