• Keep fingers away from pivot points when installing or adjusting the hinges.
• Tighten the fixings gradually and evenly, without forcing; stop if you notice unusual resistance.
• Align the seat correctly and check stability before use; the lid and seat ring should move smoothly with no play.
• Lower the lid by hand, slowly; avoid letting it drop.
• Use mild cleaners and avoid splashes to eyes and skin; ventilate the bathroom during cleaning.

Storage and maintenance

• Store parts and fixings in a dry, ventilated place away from moisture.
• Keep small parts in sealed bags or boxes and out of reach of children and pets.
• Clean periodically with a soft cloth and mild, pH-neutral soap; avoid abrasives, metal scouring pads, concentrated bleach and acids that may corrode or discolour.
• Periodically check screw tightness and the condition of washers, sleeves and hinges; re-tighten if you detect any play.
