Safety warnings and precautions

Key risks

  • Burns from contact with the hot soleplate or the jet of steam.
  • Scalds from hot water drips and condensation during vertical steaming/ironing.
  • Fire risk if the appliance is left on or resting on textiles or other flammable surfaces.
  • Electric shock from damaged cables, damp plugs or use in wet areas.
  • Trips or falls from reaching for or pulling the cable during use.
  • Damage to fabrics (shine marks, shrinkage, staining) due to inappropriate temperature or steam.
  • Deterioration of surfaces (wood, varnishes, lacquers) due to prolonged heat or moisture.
  • Splashes of limescale or dirt from the steam vents that may stain the garment.

Safe use

  • Place the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant surface; do not rest it face-down or on the garment.
  • Keep the soleplate and steam nozzle away from skin, hands and face; do not direct steam towards people or pets.
  • Do not iron or apply steam while wearing the garment; hang it or position it correctly before you start.
  • Unplug before filling or emptying the tank and avoid overfilling to reduce drips.
  • Use clean water and avoid additives, perfumes or vinegar unless explicitly stated by the manufacturer.
  • Check the fabric care label and start with lower temperatures/steam, testing on an inconspicuous area.
  • Keep the cable away from the hot soleplate and from walkways; unwind the cable without straining it.
  • In vertical use, keep the appliance as upright as possible to minimise condensation and water spitting.
  • Do not leave the appliance switched on or heating without supervision; use a safe rest position.

Storage and maintenance

  • Unplug and allow to cool completely before cleaning or storing.
  • Empty the tank after each use and, if applicable, give it a quick rinse to reduce limescale deposits.
  • Store in a dry, well-ventilated place, in a stable position and out of the reach of children.
  • Do not wrap the cable around the soleplate or when it is hot; coil it without forcing it and without tight bends.
  • Clean the soleplate when cold with a soft cloth; avoid scouring pads or solvents that could scratch it or damage coatings.
  • Descale following the manufacturer’s recommendations to keep the steam vents clear.
  • Periodically check the cable, plug, housing and tank; if you notice damage or leaks, do not use the appliance.
  • Do not open or tamper with the interior of the appliance.

Restrictions on use

  • Keep the product out of the reach of children; children should only use it under constant adult supervision.
  • Do not use the appliance with wet hands or near baths, showers, sinks or other sources of water.
  • Avoid use near aerosols, solvents or flammable materials (lightweight curtains, papers, foams).
  • Do not use it outdoors in the rain or in environments with high humidity.
  • Do not use it for purposes other than ironing or steaming textiles.
  • Do not cover the appliance or store it in closed bags or cases until it is completely cool and dry.
  • Do not connect to overloaded multi-socket adaptors or use damaged extension leads.
  • If the appliance has been dropped, shows cracks or the cable is damaged, stop using it.
