- Tipping or slipping if the base is unstable or the worktop is wet or greasy.
- The ham falling due to insufficient securing, with a risk of impact and damage to the worktop.
- Pinching or trapping when adjusting screws, levers or fastening systems.
- Injuries when attempting to move the unit with the ham fitted, due to its weight and bulk.
- Food contamination from grease or dirt build-up on the base and fastenings.
- Damage to the worktop from pressure or slipping if there are no non-slip elements.
Safe use
- Place the ham stand on a flat, dry and stable surface; use its non-slip feet or base if provided.
- Before cutting, check the tightness of screws, spikes and clamps, and ensure the ham is firmly immobilised.
- Keep hands away from the spikes and the cutting path; insert and remove the ham with controlled movements.
- Work in a clear, well-lit area with a dry worktop to prevent slips.
- Position your cuts so they do not point towards your body or other people; make smooth, controlled strokes.
- Stop cutting to rotate or readjust the piece; do not do so while the blade is moving.
- Do not move or transport the ham stand with the ham fitted.
- Regularly check the condition of rubber parts, stops or suction cups and replace them if worn.
- Use only the designated adjustment points and avoid forcing joints or levers.
- Observe the weight and size limits recommended by the manufacturer for your model.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean after each use with lukewarm water and mild detergent, removing grease and residues from the fastening areas.
- Dry all parts thoroughly before storing to prevent moisture, odours and oxidation.
- Avoid the dishwasher unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
- For wooden models, do not submerge or leave in prolonged dampness; follow the manufacturer's care recommendations.
- For metal parts, check for corrosion, burrs or loose screws; tighten or replace worn components.
- Store in a dry, ventilated place, away from heat sources or direct sunlight.
