Usage Warnings

Outdoor Showers

Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Slips and falls due to wet surfaces or soap residue around the shower and pool.
  • Burns from excessively hot water in solar showers or after hours of sun exposure; metal parts can become hot to the touch.
  • Tipping or movement of the column if it is not properly anchored or is on unstable ground.
  • Dizziness or discomfort from sudden temperature changes (very cold or very hot), especially after exercising or prolonged sun exposure.
  • Minor injuries from edges, screws or damaged parts, or from clogged showerheads that spray irregular jets.
  • Skin irritation or odours caused by stagnant water in tanks or pipes after long periods without use.

Safe use

  • Position and install the shower on a level, solid surface with good drainage to minimise puddles and slips.
  • Before use, check stability and ensure there are no loose parts, visible leaks or poorly positioned hoses/flexi hoses that could cause trips.
  • Let the water run for a few seconds at the start to purge the system and stabilise the temperature; test with your hand before wetting your whole body.
  • Open and close the flow gradually to avoid sudden splashes and water hammer.
  • Avoid directing it at the face, eyes or wounds, and do not block the showerhead with your hand.
  • Do not hang from or climb onto the column, shower arm or accessories; do not use the shower as a support for heavy towels or other objects.
  • On very sunny days, touch metal parts cautiously first and, if they are very hot, cool them by running water before touching them with bare skin.

Storage and maintenance

  • In freezing conditions, drain the system and the tank (if present) and disconnect the water inlets to prevent freeze damage.
  • If it will not be used for a while, purge and refresh the water before the next use to reduce stagnation.
  • Regularly remove limescale and dirt from the showerhead and controls using non-abrasive products; rinse after cleaning.
  • Rinse with fresh water after exposure to salt spray or pool water splashes to protect the finishes.
  • Regularly check seals, fixings and anchors; replace worn or rusted parts and tighten any loose fastenings.
  • Keep the drainage area free of leaves and debris to prevent pooling.
  • When not in use for long periods, protect the shower with a breathable cover and avoid strain on the hoses.

Restrictions on use

  • Children must always use it under adult supervision; pay particular attention to water temperature and slippery floors.
  • Do not use during thunderstorms or in very strong winds if the structure is tall and exposed.
  • Do not drink the water if the shower is connected to a non-potable supply (irrigation, well or untreated tank) unless it is expressly indicated as safe to drink.
  • Do not use solvents, strong acids or high-pressure washers on seals, controls or finishes.
  • Do not use the shower if it has cracks, significant play, damaged anchors or leaks that compromise its stability.
  • People sensitive to cold/heat or recovering after strenuous activity should avoid sudden thermal changes.
