Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Finger entrapment in the lid, hinges or latches, especially when closing.
- Blows from the lid slamming shut due to wind or sudden movement.
- Entrapment or suffocation if someone, especially children or pets, becomes trapped inside the storage chest.
- Tipping or movement if placed on uneven surfaces or when empty on windy days.
- Injuries from overexertion when moving it, or from stored items falling out when opening.
- Cuts or scratches from sharp edges, splinters or corroded metal parts.
- Damage to contents from moisture, mould and bad odours; risk if flammable or corrosive products are stored.
Safe use
- Assemble following the instructions and check that the lid, hinges and latches operate smoothly and without play.
- Place on a firm, level surface and away from walkways so the lid can be opened without striking anyone.
- Open and close while holding the lid; keep hands and head clear of the hinge and latch areas.
- On windy days, keep the lid closed and secured; do not leave it open unattended.
- Distribute the weight inside without overloading; place heavy items at the bottom and ensure nothing obstructs closure.
- Do not climb inside or allow hide-and-seek games; if a padlock is used, keep the key accessible to an adult.
- Do not store embers, hot objects, flammable liquids, pressurised cylinders or corrosive substances.
- Before putting your hand in, check the interior for insects or other animals.
Storage and maintenance
- Position in a ventilated place and, if possible, sheltered from direct sunlight and strong gusts of wind.
- Avoid standing water beneath the base and remove leaves or debris that trap moisture.
- Clean periodically with water and mild soap; dry the interior thoroughly to prevent mould and bad odours.
- Inspect screws, hinges and latches; retighten when necessary and replace damaged parts.
- Lightly lubricate hinges and latching mechanisms to prevent seizing and sudden slamming.
- Remove accumulated snow or ice from the lid and do not allow prolonged heavy loads on top.
- Air the interior from time to time and avoid storing damp textiles; use desiccants if necessary.
Usage restrictions
- Do not use as a toy, step, platform or seat unless the product is expressly designed for it.
- Do not allow children to play around or inside without supervision; keep the lid closed when not in use.
- Do not exceed the stated load capacity or place localised heavy loads on the lid.
- Do not move the storage chest when it is full; move it empty and with assistance to avoid injury or damage.
- Do not force locks or hinges; if the latch sticks, inspect and adjust before using again.
- Do not store food that may attract pests or products with strong odours in enclosed spaces.
- Do not install near heat sources, open flames or surfaces that could damage the material.
