Warnings and safety precautions
Main risks
- Cabinet tipping due to strong winds, uneven ground or a poorly distributed load.
- Cuts or pinching injuries during assembly and when opening/closing doors and latches.
- Impacts from poorly stacked items falling when opening the doors.
- Water ingress and damp that damage the contents and encourage mould.
- Deterioration from prolonged sun exposure and extreme temperatures, with possible weakening of the material.
- Fire risk if fuels, aerosols or unsuitable chemicals are stored.
- Children gaining access to tools, cleaning products or other hazardous contents.
- Attraction of pests if organic waste or dirty containers are stored.
Safe use
- Assemble and use the cabinet according to the manufacturer's instructions; handle panels and fittings with gloves and care.
- Install on a level, firm, well-drained surface; avoid soft or steeply sloped ground.
- Anchor to a wall or the ground if the model allows, especially in wind-exposed areas.
- Distribute the load with heavy items on the lower shelves and close to the back; do not overload shelves or the roof.
- Keep the doors closed and secured when not in use; hold them when opening on windy days to prevent slamming.
- Store liquids in tightly closed containers and in a stable position; clean up spills immediately.
- Do not place heat sources, flames, braziers or appliances in use inside.
- Store fuels, aerosols or chemicals only if the cabinet is designed for this, with adequate ventilation and away from direct heat.
- Control access with a lock or latch when there are tools, hazardous products or sensitive contents.
- Do not climb on, sit on or use the cabinet as a ladder or platform.
Storage and maintenance
- Where possible, position the cabinet in a place sheltered from direct sun and heavy rain to prolong its service life.
- Regularly check screws and fixings, anchors, hinges, shelves and locks; tighten or replace loose or damaged parts.
- Lubricate hinges and latches when you notice stiffness or noise; ensure the doors close without rubbing.
- Clean with water and mild soap; avoid abrasives and high-pressure jets at close range that could damage seals or panels.
- Ventilate the interior from time to time to reduce humidity; remove any standing water immediately and dry the surfaces.
- Remove snow, leaves and debris from the roof and surroundings; keep the drains and base free of blockages.
- Inspect seals and joints after storms; repair cracks or deformations that could cause leaks.
- If the ground is frequently waterlogged, improve drainage in the area to prevent premature corrosion or rot.
Usage restrictions
- Intended for general domestic outdoor storage; this is not a fireproof, airtight or high-security cabinet.
- Do not store pressurised gases, fuels, paints or corrosives unless the cabinet is specifically rated for this.
- Do not store food, animal feed or medicines if the cabinet is exposed to heat, moisture or pests.
- Do not allow children to play in or around it; keep it locked if it contains hazardous products.
- Do not install in flood-risk areas or where it could obstruct exits or walkways.
- Do not hang from the doors or use the walls to support additional loads.
- Do not stack one cabinet on top of another unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
- On very windy days, do not leave the doors open unsecured.
