Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Detachment of the shelf due to inadequate fixing or exceeding the load capacity.
  • Falling objects from the shelf, potentially causing impact injuries or cuts.
  • Breakage of the shelf (especially glass or thin boards) due to impacts or overloading.
  • Damage to the wall and injuries during installation when drilling into areas with concealed cables or pipes.
  • Cuts from sharp edges or chipped glass.
  • Weakening of fittings and adhesives due to moisture, grease or degraded surfaces.
  • Risk to children from climbing, pulling on the shelf or reaching dangerous objects.

Safe use

  • Read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for installation and maximum load.
  • Use fixings and wall plugs compatible with the wall type, and ensure the surface is sound and clean.
  • Before drilling, locate and avoid electrical cables and pipes; use a suitable detector if possible.
  • Distribute the weight evenly; place heavier items near the brackets and avoid placing them at the edge.
  • For adhesive models, verify surface compatibility and observe the adhesive cure times before loading.
  • Handle glass shelves with particular care; avoid impacts to the edges and point loads.
  • Position shelves at a height that allows safe access; use a stable ladder to reach high areas.
  • If you lack experience with fixings or identifying the wall type, consider the help of a qualified installer.

Storage and maintenance

  • Periodically check screws, brackets and anchors; re-tighten and replace any damaged, rusted or loose parts.
  • Check for sagging, cracks or looseness; if any are present, remove the load and remedy before using again.
  • Clean with a soft cloth; avoid abrasive products or excess water that could damage finishes or adhesives.
  • Protect from prolonged moisture, grease and steam; wipe up splashes to prevent corrosion or detachment.
  • For glass shelves, remove and replace if you detect nicks or chips.
  • If you uninstall or store the shelf, protect it from impacts, keep it horizontal and in a dry place; keep the fittings together.

Restrictions of use

  • Indoor use unless specifically indicated by the product for outdoor use.
  • Do not use as a step, seat, grab bar or to hang from.
  • Do not install above cots, play areas or headboards where a fall could cause injury.
  • Do not place very heavy appliances (e.g. microwaves, aquariums, televisions) unless the product expressly permits it and with appropriate fixings.
  • Keep heavy, fragile, sharp or toxic objects placed on the shelf out of children’s reach.
  • Avoid installing near sources of intense heat or extreme humidity that could deform materials or weaken adhesives.
  • Installation and handling by adults; keep children away during assembly.
