Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Frame falling due to inadequate fixings or unsuitable adhesives, with a risk of injury or property damage.
  • Breakage of glass or acrylic and cuts when handling or if the frame comes loose.
  • Impact injuries from frames poorly propped on shelves, ledges or furniture.
  • Damage to the wall or to concealed services (cables, pipes) when drilling.
  • Small parts (wall plugs, screws, hooks) accessible to children or pets.
  • Deterioration of the contents due to prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, humidity or heat.

Safe use

  • Choose fixings suitable for the frame’s weight and the wall type; spreading the load across two points improves stability.
  • Check that the frame fittings (hooks, wires, brackets) are secure before hanging.
  • If using adhesive hooks, observe the maximum load and curing time; avoid rough, damp or freshly painted surfaces.
  • Level and mark the fixing points; check the hold by applying load gradually before letting go completely.
  • Keep a distance from heat sources, fireplaces, radiators, candles and areas prone to water splashes.
  • When handling frames with glass, hold by the frame and wear gloves if necessary; do not press the centre of the glass.
  • Use a stable ladder and eye protection when drilling; check for cables or pipes with a suitable detector.
  • Fit bumpers or rear felt pads to protect the wall and encourage a little airflow.

Storage and maintenance

  • Store frames upright, in a dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
  • Protect corners and glass with padding; avoid stacking them directly on top of one another.
  • Dust with a soft, dry cloth; on glass surfaces, apply the cleaner to the cloth, not directly onto the frame.
  • Avoid abrasive or solvent-based products that could damage the frame or the print.
  • Periodically check fixings and hooks; replace loose, rusty or damaged parts.
  • If condensation or staining appears on the back, remove the frame, allow it to dry and improve ventilation in the area.

Restrictions of use

  • For indoor use; not suitable for outdoor use unless expressly stated.
  • Do not hang above cots, changing tables or play areas; avoid placing heavy items or items with glass above beds or sofas.
  • Do not exceed the maximum load of the fixings or the frame’s hanging system.
  • Do not install near open flames, heaters or intense, persistent humidity (showers, splash-prone areas) unless the product permits it.
  • Do not use if the frame, glass or fittings are damaged, cracked or deformed.
  • Do not use the frame as a shelf, step or support, nor modify the fittings in a way that reduces their strength.
  • Keep screws, wall plugs and hooks out of the reach of children and pets.
