Safety warnings and precautions

Main risks

  • Overheating, fire or damage if used with incompatible batteries or with incorrect voltage/current.
  • Short circuits and sparks due to loose connections, damaged cables or reversed polarity.
  • Risk of electric shock from DC circuits and burns from surfaces that may become hot during charging.
  • Battery degradation (swelling, leakage, loss of capacity) due to overcharging or prolonged unattended charging.
  • Ingress of water or dust leading to corrosion or failures if the equipment is not suitable for outdoor use.
  • Accumulation of flammable gases in some batteries during charging in poorly ventilated spaces.
  • Damage to connected equipment due to voltage spikes or sudden disconnection of the panel under load.
  • Trips or tugs caused by trailing cables that may rip out connections or topple equipment.

Safe use

  • Ensure the charger is compatible with your battery type and nominal voltage before use.
  • Check polarity and use suitable cables and connectors, in good condition and securely tightened.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s specified connection and disconnection sequence; avoid handling connections while the panel is generating power.
  • Place the charger on a stable, dry and well-ventilated surface; do not cover the ventilation slots.
  • Keep the equipment and battery away from flammable materials and heat sources.
  • Monitor the first start-up and prolonged charges; if you detect odour, smoke or abnormal temperature, disconnect safely.
  • Use overcurrent protection and the cable size recommended by the manufacturer.
  • If your battery may emit gases during charging, work in a ventilated area and keep sparks and flames away.
  • Avoid rain and moisture unless the product is designed for it; dry the connections before use.
  • Do not charge batteries that are damaged, swollen, leaking or outside the recommended temperature range.

Storage and maintenance

  • Disconnect from the panel and the battery before cleaning, moving or storing the charger.
  • Store in a dry, clean and ventilated place, protected from dust, moisture and direct sunlight when not in use.
  • Periodically inspect cables, connectors and terminals; replace damaged parts and remove corrosion.
  • Clean heatsinks and ventilation slots with a dry cloth; do not use abrasive products or high-pressure water.
  • Protect unused terminals with caps to prevent accidental short circuits.
  • Check that fixings and connections remain secure after vibration or transport.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for periods of inactivity and for storage of the equipment and the battery.

Usage restrictions

  • For charging compatible batteries only; do not use as a general power supply or for other purposes.
  • Keep out of reach of children and pets; should only be handled by users familiar with basic electrical connections.
  • Do not use in potentially explosive atmospheres or near flammable liquids.
  • Do not cover the equipment or place it in unventilated enclosures.
  • Do not modify the product, bypass safety features or open the casing.
  • Do not use outdoors unless explicitly stated by the manufacturer.
  • Do not connect or disconnect abruptly under load to avoid electrical arcing.
  • In mobile installations, secure the equipment and cabling to prevent tugs and accidental disconnections.
