Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Sudden ingress of water into the tube due to splashes, waves or poor positioning, with a risk of choking or panic.
- CO2 retention from shallow breathing or intense effort, which may cause dizziness, headache or disorientation.
- Brief loss of air when removing or fitting the snorkel or after a dive, with a risk of inhaling water.
- Collisions or impacts with other swimmers, pool edges or pool equipment; possible snagging on straps.
- Irritation of lips or gums and jaw fatigue from biting the mouthpiece hard or for prolonged periods.
- Reduced awareness of your surroundings when looking down, increasing the risk of collisions or of not hearing warnings.
- Additional risks in open water due to currents, waves, low visibility and boat traffic.
Safe use
- Adjust the strap and mouthpiece so they are secure yet comfortable; avoid pressure, chafing or points of pain.
- Position the tube so it stays above the water while swimming at the surface and check that it is not obstructed.
- Get accustomed in a shallow, calm area before using it over longer distances or in open water.
- Breathe calmly and deeply; if you feel dizzy, nauseous or short of breath, stop, remove the snorkel and leave the water.
- Before inhaling after a dive, make sure there is no water left in the tube.
- Keep your distance from other swimmers and avoid crossing in busy lanes; take extra care on turns.
- In open water, stay visible and keep away from boat traffic; where appropriate, use a surface marker buoy.
- Do not hyperventilate or use the snorkel for breath-hold dives; it is not designed for freediving or deep descents.
- Do not use the snorkel if you notice cracks, deformation, loose parts or poor fit.
- For hygiene reasons, avoid sharing the mouthpiece without appropriate prior cleaning.
Storage and maintenance
- Rinse with fresh water after each use in a pool or the sea to remove chlorine, salt and sand.
- Allow to air-dry completely, in the shade and in a ventilated place before storing.
- Store in a cool, dry place, avoiding prolonged exposure to sunlight or heat sources that could deform it.
- Do not bend or force the tube and avoid placing weight on top of it.
- Clean the mouthpiece periodically with suitable products and rinse thoroughly to remove residues.
- Regularly check straps, bite area and joints; replace parts that are worn, sticky or cracked.
- Keep the equipment out of reach of children and pets when drying or unattended.
Restrictions of use
- Not suitable for scuba diving, deep dives or freediving practice.
- Do not use in heavy surf, strong currents, storms or in areas with boat traffic.
- Not recommended for very young children; minors should always use it under the supervision of a competent adult swimmer.
- Avoid use if you experience fainting, seizures, frequent dizziness or breathing difficulties during exercise.
- Do not use under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medicines that cause drowsiness.
- Do not use while operating or travelling on boats or watercraft.
- Tie back long hair and avoid accessories that could catch on the straps.
