Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Slips and falls on wet surfaces or due to accessories left in walkways.
- Entanglement and entrapment with hoses, ropes, covers and reels.
- Skin and eye irritation from contact with tablets, reagents or water treatment residues.
- Pinching and cuts when operating reels, handling ladders or tools with hard edges.
- Electrical risk with battery-powered or corded accessories near water and from damaged casings.
- Suction at skimmers or pool cleaners connected to the filtration system.
- Impacts from telescopic poles and serious risk if used near power lines or during thunderstorms.
- Breakage of thermometers or other fragile items in the pool.
- Entrapment under covers or tarpaulins if stepped on or if swimming with the cover partially in place.
Safe use
- Assemble and adjust each accessory following the manufacturer’s instructions; ensure poles and fasteners are properly locked before use.
- Keep the pool edge clear; put away tools and hoses when finished to prevent trips.
- Switch off the filtration and any electrical equipment before handling skimmers, grilles, lights or pool cleaners.
- If using dispensers or test kits, avoid direct contact with reagents; wear gloves and, where appropriate, eye protection. Do not mix products.
- Use poles carefully, without moving them over people; do not use them during electrical storms or near power lines.
- Check the stability of ladders and handrails before climbing, and enter/exit the pool calmly to avoid falls.
- With covers: fit or remove them completely before swimming, secure tensioners and avoid placing hands in pinch points on the reel; remove water accumulated on top.
- With electrical or battery-powered accessories, use only those designed for outdoor/pool use; keep plugs and chargers dry and do not submerge equipment unless it is designed for it.
Storage and maintenance
- Rinse with fresh water after use and dry before storing to minimise corrosion and wear.
- Do not leave poles, hoses, nets or dispensers permanently in the pool.
- Store in the shade, in a ventilated place, away from frost and extreme heat to prevent warping and breakage.
- Keep covers clean and dry; check seams, eyelets, tensioners and the reel shaft.
- Drain hoses and roll them without twists; avoid crushing that reduces the flow.
- Keep test strips and consumables tightly closed, dry and out of reach of children and pets.
- Regularly inspect moving and wear parts (brushes, wheels, clips, seals, floats) and replace if there are cracks, looseness or sharp edges.
- For battery-powered accessories, remove the batteries if they will not be used for a while; do not mix new and used batteries and check for possible leaks.
- Check that lids and seals are properly closed before submerging accessories that must be watertight.
Restrictions on use
- These are not toys: do not allow children to play with hoses, poles, dispensers or covers; always supervise near water.
- Do not walk, sit or swim under covers or tarpaulins that are not designed to bear weight.
- Do not use metal or fibre poles near power lines or during thunderstorms.
- Do not use electrical accessories if they show cracks, damaged cables, internal moisture or corroded connectors.
- Do not block suction inlets with your body, hair or clothing; keep clear of pool cleaners in operation.
- Do not mix or decant treatment products into unlabelled containers; do not inhale reagent vapours.
- Do not leave accessories on stairs or in walkways where they could cause trips.
- Do not use ladders, platforms or supports showing signs of instability or beyond their rated capacity.
- Do not use accessories that are cracked, with loose parts or sharp tips; replace them before further use.
