Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Impacts or drops during handling due to the washbasin's weight and fragility.
- Breakage and sharp-edged shards caused by impacts.
- Detachment or movement if the fixings or worktop are unsuitable.
- Burns from excessively hot water.
- Leaks and damp from defective seals or waste outlets, with a risk of mould and damage to furniture or floors.
- Slips caused by water spilt on the floor.
- Surface deterioration and skin or eye irritation caused by harsh cleaners.
- Blockages that may cause overflows and bad odours.
Safe use
- Install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and using fixings compatible with the wall or worktop type; if you lack experience in plumbing or fixings, hire a qualified professional.
- Ensure it is level, secure and without any wobble before use.
- Do not sit, stand or lean your body weight on the washbasin; avoid point loads on the edges.
- Avoid thermal shock: do not pour boiling water or switch abruptly from very cold to very hot water.
- Adjust the water temperature gradually and test with cold water first to prevent scalding.
- Avoid impacts and dropping hard objects into the washbasin.
- Wipe up any splashes on the floor to prevent slips.
- Use mild, non-abrasive cleaners; avoid strong acids or bleach unless specified by the manufacturer. Rinse and dry after cleaning; wear gloves and ventilate the bathroom.
- Do not pour solvents, paints, oils or solid residues down the drain; use a strainer where possible to reduce blockages.
- Check periodically for damp beneath the washbasin and for deteriorated seals; if you detect leaks, do not use it until the problem has been corrected.
Storage and maintenance
- Before installation, have two people carry it, holding it by the base and protecting edges and surfaces.
- Store it in its original packaging, on a flat, stable surface, without stacking heavy items on top.
- Avoid exposure to frost or abrupt temperature changes during storage.
- For routine cleaning, use a soft cloth and neutral soap; dry afterwards to reduce limescale and stains.
- To descale, use products compatible with the material and rinse thoroughly; avoid scouring pads or abrasive sponges.
- Keep the waste and, if fitted, the overflow clean, to prevent blockages and bad odours.
- Periodically inspect the sealant joints and fixing points; renew the seals when they are deteriorated.
Restrictions of use
- Product intended for personal hygiene and normal bathroom use; not suitable for food preparation or handling chemicals.
- Do not use if it shows cracks, sharp chips or instability in its supports.
- Do not install or use outdoors or in areas without frost protection, unless expressly indicated by the manufacturer.
- Keep cleaning products out of the reach of children; supervise use by minors or by people with reduced mobility or thermal sensitivity.
- Do not block the waste or, if present, the overflow; do not leave water running with the plug closed unattended.
- Do not drill, sand or modify the piece or its fixings.
