Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Tipping of the unit when multiple drawers are opened at the same time, when climbing, or due to an unevenly distributed load.
- Finger entrapment in the runners or between the drawer front and the frame when closing.
- Drawers falling out if pulled beyond their stop, or when the stops are damaged or missing.
- Injury from heavy or unstable objects placed on the top.
- Injuries when moving or assembling the chest of drawers due to its weight and bulk.
- Instability on uneven floors, or if it is tall or narrow and not anchored.
Safe use
- Anchor the chest of drawers to the wall with the system supplied or recommended by the manufacturer, and check stability before use.
- Place it on a flat, level surface; adjust the feet if fitted.
- Place heavier items in the lower drawers and distribute the load evenly; do not exceed the capacity stated by the manufacturer.
- Open only one drawer at a time and close it fully after use.
- Prevent children from climbing on or hanging from the drawers; consider child safety stops or locks if necessary.
- On the top, place only stable objects; position heavy items centred and towards the back, and avoid unsecured televisions.
- Keep hands away from the runners when closing; close gently, do not slam.
- During assembly, follow the instructions, use all the fixings, and keep small parts and packaging out of the reach of children.
Storage and maintenance
- Clean with a soft cloth, dry or slightly damp; avoid abrasives and solvents. Wipe up any spills immediately.
- Periodically check screws, handles, runners and anchors; retighten when necessary and replace damaged parts before use.
- Keep the chest of drawers away from direct moisture, heat sources and strong sunlight that may warp or discolour.
- To move it, empty the drawers and, if possible, remove or secure them; carry with two people and protect the corners.
- After unpacking and assembly, ventilate the room if you notice a new odour.
Restrictions of use
- For indoor, domestic use; not suitable for outdoor use unless specifically stated by the manufacturer.
- Do not use the chest of drawers as a step, seat, platform or work surface.
- Do not place heavy appliances or heat-generating devices on the top without appropriate support; do not exceed the recommended weight limits.
- Do not modify, drill or remove stops, runners or anti-tip devices.
- Do not use the unit if any critical fixing is missing, if there is excessive play, or if it is not stable.
- Do not store hazardous products (medicines, tools, chemicals) within the reach of children or in drawers without a lock.
