Safety warnings and precautions

Key risks

  • Tipping due to poorly distributed loads or leaning on edges, extension leaves, or open drawers.
  • Finger entrapment in drawers, runners, pull-out trays, or height-adjustment mechanisms where fitted.
  • Impacts with edges and corners, especially in narrow passageways.
  • Trips due to loose cables or items beneath the desk.
  • Injuries when lifting or moving heavy furniture without adequate assistance.
  • Instability caused by uneven floors or loose fixings.
  • Risk of spills that could damage the surface or, if the model includes electrical components, cause short circuits.

Safe use

  • Assemble following the manufacturer's instructions and check all fixings are secure; for bulky or heavy parts, assemble with two people.
  • Place the desk on a level surface; adjust levelling feet if present.
  • Observe the stated load capacity and distribute weight evenly, positioning heavier items close to support points.
  • Do not stand or sit on the work surface, drawers, pull-out trays, or extension leaves; fully close drawers after use.
  • Pull out only one drawer at a time to prevent imbalance.
  • Keep the underside area clear and manage cabling using cable grommets or cable ties to reduce the risk of tripping.
  • If the desk is height-adjustable or has moving parts, keep hands and objects away from moving zones and ensure there are no obstructions before operating the mechanism.
  • If fitted with castors, engage the brakes during use.
  • Place drinks in stable containers and keep them away from edges and any integrated electrical components.

Storage and maintenance

  • Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and wipe up spills immediately; avoid abrasive products or solvents.
  • Periodically check screws, fittings and runners; retighten or replace worn or damaged parts.
  • For electric models, disconnect from the mains before cleaning and do not spray liquids onto controls or motors.
  • Keep away from sources of direct heat, excessive humidity and prolonged exposure to sunlight.
  • Use levelling feet or leg protectors to prevent wobbling and accidental movement, and to protect the floor.
  • To move the furniture, empty drawers and remove accessories; lift without dragging to avoid damage to the structure and the floor.
  • For temporary storage, protect edges and surfaces, keep in a dry, flat place, and avoid stacking heavy panels without spacers.

Usage restrictions

  • Recommended for indoor and dry environments, unless otherwise specified by the manufacturer.
  • Do not modify the structure (additional drilling, cuts) or replace fittings with non-equivalent parts.
  • Do not exceed the maximum load or force adjustable elements into extreme positions.
  • Do not allow children to climb, hang or operate mechanisms; supervision when children are present.
  • Do not move the desk when it is heavily loaded or move about while seated on it; if it has castors, move slowly with a clear path.
  • Do not place equipment that generates intense heat directly on the surface without suitable insulating bases.
  • Do not use to support heavy or vibrating machinery unless it is designed for it.
  • Do not use the furniture if it shows instability, structural damage or loose fixings until it has been inspected and repaired.
