Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Tipping or instability of the furniture due to poorly installed legs, incorrect adjustment, or uneven floors.
- Detachment or collapse if the fixings are not suitable for the furniture or if the recommended load is exceeded.
- Trapping, impacts or cuts during assembly, height adjustment or when cutting plinths.
- Slippage and floor damage when protectors, felt pads or non-slip bases are missing.
- Deterioration from moisture, corrosion or swelling that weakens legs, plinths or fittings.
- Drilling into areas with concealed wiring or pipes when screwing or nailing plinths and supports.
- Accidental blockage of ventilation grilles in furniture or built-in appliances when installing plinths.
Safe use
- Check the accessory's compatibility with the furniture: dimensions, fixing points, and required height or adjustment.
- Follow the furniture's load recommendations; distribute the weight and use all supplied fixings.
- Adjust and level the legs until the furniture rests stably on all legs.
- For tall or narrow furniture, consider using anti-tip systems where design and use make this advisable.
- Before drilling, check there are no cables or pipes in the area; mark and drill precisely to avoid cracks.
- When cutting or adjusting plinths, wear gloves and eye protection and keep hands away from cutting blades.
- Fit protectors or felt pads to the base of the legs to prevent scratches and improve grip on smooth floors.
- Avoid impacts and point loads; do not sit or stand on furniture supported by decorative legs.
- If the plinth covers ventilation areas, leave the clearance recommended by the furniture or appliance manufacturer.
Storage and maintenance
- Store legs and plinths in a dry, well-ventilated place, laid flat and without any weight on top that could deform them.
- Keep screws, wall plugs, brackets and small parts organised and out of reach of children.
- Periodically check the tightness of screws and anchors, as well as any play, cracks, rust or deformation.
- Replace damaged or worn elements immediately, including felt pads, stoppers and plinth retaining clips.
- Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry afterwards; avoid abrasive products or overly wet ones.
- Minimise exposure to continuous moisture in kitchens and bathrooms; wipe up splashes to extend service life.
- When moving the furniture, lift it with assistance rather than dragging it to avoid straining legs and fixings.
Restrictions of use
- Do not use legs or plinths as a step, seat, handle or anchoring point.
- Do not mix legs of different heights or models on the same piece of furniture unless they are adjustable and compatible.
- Do not modify or drill beyond what the design provides for; avoid screws or wall plugs that are not suitable for the material.
- Do not install outdoors or in high-humidity areas unless clearly specified by the product.
- Do not exceed the number of legs provided for by the furniture design, nor remove essential support elements.
- Do not allow children to climb, hang from or push tall furniture on legs; supervise use and keep them away during assembly.
- Do not obstruct access for cleaning or maintenance beneath furniture by fitting fixed plinths without an access panel.
