Safety warnings and precautions
Main risks
- Falls due to improper fixing or unstable leaning of the mirror, with possible personal injury and property damage.
- Glass breakage producing sharp edges and shards.
- Tipping of freestanding mirrors or those leaned against the wall, especially in walkways.
- Direct sun reflections that may concentrate heat and damage nearby surfaces.
- Accidental impacts when placed behind doors or in narrow corridors.
- Deterioration from prolonged moisture that may affect the back, frames or fittings.
Safe use
- On unpacking, check there are no cracks, chips or loose frames. Do not use the mirror if you detect any damage.
- Install using hardware suitable for the mirror's weight and the wall type (appropriate wall plugs, screws or hangers). Secure with two anchor points wherever possible.
- Avoid placing the mirror above cots, beds, sofas, or areas where a fall could impact people.
- For freestanding or leaning mirrors, fully extend the support, use non-slip pads and keep them out of walkways. If leaning against the wall, secure the top with an anti-tip device.
- Do not place the mirror where it will receive prolonged direct sunlight, or where the reflection is cast onto curtains, furniture or heat-sensitive appliances.
- Avoid placing it behind doors without a stop, or where knocks and vibrations are frequent.
- Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Apply cleaner to the cloth, not directly to edges or the back. Avoid abrasive or highly alkaline products and dry the edges after cleaning.
- If it breaks, keep children and pets away. Wear gloves to pick up fragments and dispose of them safely.
Storage and maintenance
- Store the mirror upright, protected with corner guards or cardboard. Avoid stacking and do not place weight on top.
- Keep it in a dry, ventilated place, away from heat sources and sudden temperature changes.
- Protect surfaces and corners during moves or relocations to avoid impacts and vibrations.
- Periodically check hangers, screws, straps or supports. Replace any loose, rusty or damaged parts immediately.
- In bathrooms or other humid areas, favour ventilation and occasionally dry the edges to reduce condensation.
Restrictions of use
- For indoor use unless the product expressly indicates suitability for outdoor use or very humid areas.
- Do not use as a support surface, step, or to hang objects from the frame.
- Do not drill, cut or modify the mirror, its back or the fixing systems.
- Do not install on ceilings or on unstable surfaces unless they are specifically prepared for this.
- Keep out of reach of small children and prevent them from climbing, pushing or playing nearby without supervision.
- Do not place behind doors that open forcefully unless there is a doorstop and sufficient clearance.
