Main risks

• Irritation of skin, eyes and airways from direct contact, dust or vapours.
• Accidental ingestion by children or pets; some products may be toxic if swallowed.
• Plant damage (root or leaf burn) from over-application or incorrect application.
• Runoff or leaching that can affect nearby soil and water if applied in excess or before rainfall.
• Staining or corrosion on stone, tiles or metals from prolonged contact with fertilisers, especially saline or concentrated liquid products.
• Airborne dust or splashes during pouring or solution preparation.
• Odours and possible attraction of insects or animals with poorly sealed or stored organic fertilisers.

Safe use

• Read and follow the instructions on the packaging regarding application rate, method and frequency of application.
• Wear gloves; add eye protection and a lightweight dust mask if working with fine powders or aerosols.
• Do not mix fertilisers with each other or with other products (bleach, cleaners, plant protection products) unless explicitly indicated by the manufacturer.
• Prepare and apply in well-ventilated areas; outdoors, avoid days with strong winds or imminent rain.
• Apply evenly and, where appropriate, water afterwards to incorporate it into the substrate and reduce dust.
• Avoid direct contact with leaves and trunks when the product is intended for soil application.
• Keep children and pets away from the treated area until the product has been incorporated and the surface is dry.
• Wash hands, arms and tools after use; do not eat, drink or smoke while handling.

Storage and maintenance

• Store the product in its original container, tightly closed and with the label legible.
• Keep in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, protected from direct sunlight and sources of heat.
• Keep containers away from food, drink and animal feed.
• Avoid moisture: seal bags properly; for liquids, store upright to prevent leaks.
• Periodically check the condition of the container and contents; discard products that are caked, mouldy or have an unusual odour.
• Manage spills by collecting solids and absorbing liquids; avoid letting them enter drains.
• Do not reuse containers for other purposes; dispose of leftovers and containers in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

Restrictions on use

• Keep out of reach of children and pets; for use only by responsible adults.
• Not for human or animal consumption.
• Do not apply near wells, ponds, aquariums or drains.
• Do not use indoors without adequate ventilation, or spray in enclosed spaces.
• Do not apply to freshly transplanted or stressed plants unless the packaging allows it.
• For edible crops, follow the recommendations on the packaging before harvesting.
• Do not use if the container is damaged, leaking or swollen, or if the contents appear abnormal.
• People with asthma, skin allergies or chemical sensitivity should minimise exposure or delegate the application.
